Well, I can't attribute all my success to just dropping soda, although that has helped immensely. I was drinking about 3-4 full-flavor sodas every day. That's 150 calories a pop. x4, that's 600 calories a day.
x7 that's 4200 calories a day.
It taks 3500 calories to make a pound. So, not drinking full-caloried soda (I still enjoy my occasional Coke Zero) has stopped me from gaining an extra 1.5 pounds per week! How about THEM apples!
