What has been your progress so far on SP? |

So far I have released 60 lbs, I am now fit and strong, exercise two hours most days, and kicking up to another level of exercise. All this while carefully avoiding injury and managing to keep exercising through my setbacks. I am confident I know how to release the rest of the extra fat I am packing and how not to gain any extra fat once that is gone. I don,t just know what is needed in my head, I am now a person who doesn't let obstacles get in the way of my health and enjoyment of life. There is still work to do and I am committed to do what it takes, because I want to do it for myself, and though of course there will be blips along the way, nothing will derail me. This was not the Fifi who set off on her Sparkjourney. So, amazing progress thanks to Sparkpeople.

Started tracking again at end of Feb and since then I have lost 11 lbs.
Goals April ~ 5 lbs goal met 4/29/13 May ~ 7 lbs

Lost 14 lbs so far, slow but steady. Am not where I want to be, but am not where I used to be. I can fit comfortably in clothes now.

I joined SP in January 2012 and I stayed with it for about a week  However I knew I had discovered a jewel and was mentally preparing for several months. In June last year I started tracking on daily basis. It was going very well until the end of September when I had a major event in my life - moving between continents. Here in US I needed time to adjust to the food, cuisine and find the right foods. I gained about 10lbs back in just 2 months. But even in that period I KNEW in my heart that I'm not leaving the SP. I said to myself: I'm gonna stick to this. It's the ONLY thing that has EVER worked for me. In December I started regular tracking again. In reply to one of the users: there's no magic formula. Indeed, it's all about baby steps, taking one day at a time, falling & getting up again. The only thing you don't do - you don't give up. In 10 months (including the 2 months when I gained and had to lose that again!) I have lost 41.8 lbs altogether. To me it seems like it was and is painfully slow, but when I see how far I have come I never think of giving up!

scale didn't budge even though I had been eating under 1500 per day and exercising at least 40 minutes per day 5 days per week but it finally did today...feel great...and love putting in all the stats at night...keeps me away from the kitchen!

i've lost 4 lbs last week, i know it's because ive been keeping track of food and drinking more water! but it felt good to see the scale go down:)

I have learned that when I come back from a run, I need to eat more, or else I'll overeat later. I also need to make sure to eat enough between 11 and 2, or else I don't properly recover.

I signed up for SparkCoach because I need help sticking with counting calories long enough to reach any kind of goal. My community task today is to answer these questions: 1. What have you learned since tracking your food? 2. What challenges have you run into? I have learned that I eat a lot of fat calories. These fat calories come in the form of nuts, salad dressing, mainly. The other thing I learned is - I need to eat more protein. So some days I make a protein shake. My biggest challenge is not eating the cereal my daughter bought for my grandson and not buying chocolate. I eat out of habit, so soothe my emotions, not necessarily because I am hungry or need to eat. At this weight I could probably not eat for 3 months and survive. So I think need is a relative term. I also found one day I had an appointment at 11 and did not eat anything for breakfast but coffee with milk in it. And I was so hungry by 1 pm that even though I ate a healthy lunch, I overate the rest of the day.

I am doing well. The tracker and the encouraging stories from people who have lost so much weight is awesome. I teach school. We share classrooms at the college. Apparently, a teacher was explaining nutrition. She left her notes and the website for spark people on the board. I happen to see it as I was cleaning off the board. I went to the computer and instantly fell in love with spark people. It has been so helpful!

I am baaaack. Lost 40 lbs. on SP a few years ago and kept it off for about a year. This past year and a half, I have been struggling with health issues and was unable to exercise. Signed back into SP last week and have been tracking my food and slowly starting to move again. Looking forward to long term success and maintenance this time.

I also shop at Goodwill. I bought myself a beautiful spring dress that came from Loft (Ann Taylor),for $2.50. I peeked at the Loft at the mall today,and found that the dress would have cost me $75.00!! My progress has been a lot better. I am staying more focused on my goals and find that if I just make myself get on the fan bike,I stay on it for at least 20 minutes. Better to mindlessly watch t.v. and ride than mindlessly watch t.v. and eat!!!

I have lost 11 pounds since the end of October when I joined SP! I have changed my mental awareness and read my body for clues when I am full and track food everyday. Three more pounds to reach my goal. I love SP!

I restarted SP Jan 1 after being away for two years. I had put on most of the weight I had lost. My progress is that I have lost 13 pounds in two months. I feel better, have more energy, can exercise longer, and not get out of breath after 30 min on the treadmill. I'm down from a size 22 to an 18. I have shortened my belt by 4 notches. My cravings are gone, I have not had any fast food since before Jan 1. Smaller portions are OK for me now. I no longer have junk food in the house and I don't miss it. All my clothes look better on me now, and the 'smaller ones' that I haven't worn for years in the back of my closet are one by one starting to fit. I'm a happy camper!!! SP works!!!

I am giving up on the scale, because it won't budge. But I feel so much better! And my blood sugars are so good I can cut back a little on my insulin! I exercise 5 days a week for 30 minutes. I have cut my calories to 1250-1600 a day. I have bombed it a couple of times, but gone right back to it. I am making a lifestyle change that is permanent this time. Sorry, but I am not giving up chocolate!

I Am Very New At Sparks People, This Is An EXCITING JOURNEY Of Mine For 2013. I Can Sure Say , I Am REAL HAPPY, That I Am Actually Holding Myself Accountable and Being Responsible For What I Put Into My Body!!! I Love So Many Things About Sparks The Calorie Counter, The Food Tracker, And Fitness Tracker Has Helped Me Reach My Goals Yesterday, I Was SUPER Excited, I Usually OVER EAT and Eat Anything In The PAST and Now I REALLY Watch and Think If I Really Want It Or Not! Everyone Is So Friendly and Helpful Here On This Website, I Have Already Met A Few Wonderful Gals That Have Touched My Life. I Have ALWAYS Struggled With My Weight I Weighed 300 lbs in 2001, I Lost 100 lbs During Divorce, Diets, and Diet Pills by 2004, and Have Gained 60 Lbs Of My Weight Back. Met A Wonderful Man and Married, in 2010 and Didnt Care About What I Looked Like Anymore. So Now Im Here To Make A LIFE CHANGE, Changing Your Thinking Can Change Your Life
