Not sure what you mean by "considered a test."
I can't see what could be wrong about cooking with wine. Just count the calories.
The alcohol content will evaporate when the dish is heated; not sure if this has any impact on calorie content, though its ability to inebriate is neutralized :)
Edit: Oh, i see, "The Plan" is another of these "Doctor" Oz approved "diets" - ok well I don't take kindly to Dr. Oz and his promotion of nutritional sorcery, so, I guess i'm not the right one to ask for feedback on this question :)
