When do you eat lunch? The problem may be that you simply aren't eating enough or OFTEN enough. I personally don't like eating any less frequent than every 4 hours, with my PREFERRED being eating SOMETHING at least every two hours. Blood sugar (even in nondiabetics) needs to be regulated- and it's easiest to regulate that with when and what we eat.
If you eat a late dinner that is maybe 6 or more hours after lunch, then by all means, have a snack! It's better to spread your calories throughout the day rather than "bulk feed" so if you are getting in your calories just fine by eating breakfast, lunch, and dinner, cut back a little on one (or all) of those meals and have a "fourth meal" or a snack in between lunch and dinner. It's totally okay to do that
