It really does depend on how you purchase them. In Japan we used to steam then and sprinkle with sea salt. You can also place a little water in a bowl with them and put in the microwave. Some people boil but I don't like it that way. You can also make it into hummus! Search engine it and I'm sure you will find a lot of great recipes. Yum!

Can be fresh & raw in a salad, but sometimes tossed toward the end into a skillet of something else that's being sauteed ... gives them a nice finish.

I like them thawed and raw with a bit of salt. I put a 1/2 cup frozen in a container in my lunch and it's thawed by the time I'm ready to eat it later in the day.

I buy them frozen in the pod and just follow the package directions, which I think is just boiling them for a few minutes. Then I drain them and sprinkle with salt and garlic powder. Mm

Usually steamed and salted. But, I've only ever had it at restaurants or from a frozen bag, I've never bought it fresh and prepared it.

I spray a baking sheet and bake shelled, frozen edamame at 400* until they start getting some golden color to them. I prefer to let them cool and then bag them up in 1/2 cup portions. Usually I eat them cold, but they could be reheated before eating. I absolutely love edamame!!!
