Eating bad carbs (refined sugars, processed flour) really makes you crave more of them, so the best way to reduce the carb cravings is to reduce your intake of those bad carbs. I know, easier said than done sometimes :)
One thing you can do is look for foods with lots of fiber in them, as that fiber will help you feel full.
You can also use water as a deterrent. Any time you catch yourself with a craving like that, make yourself drink two glasses of water and wait 10 minutes.
A big one for me too is that if it isn't there, I can't eat it. I can't let myself impulse buy cookies or chips or unhealthy things at the grocery store because if it is there when I get a craving, I will eat all of it. If I really want ice cream, I'll buy one of those tiny cups instead of picking up a box of treats or a half gallon of ice cream. Same thing works in reverse, if you have veggies cut up and ready to grab, it is easier to get those healthy snacks in.
Run like you're chasing the skinny version of you that is on the horizon!
