Well you would always spend more time job hunting or working out - at one point when I was unemployed for a long stretch of time (close to two years) I went to the gym every days (7 days a week) and I'd spend from 2 to 6 hours in a day at the gym weight lifting and doing cardio on top of taking my dog for a walk and sending out resume's (i'd spend a good 4 hours plus going though job boards).
I'm almost back to doing that again, only its with my hubby (we're both unemployed atm him going since 2009 and me since december of last year) and instead of hitting the gym its talking long walks with him with our resume's and handing his in at all the shops we pass along our walk (his background is in retail) if we see something that fits my deal (graphic/web/photography) I'll go in and see what's possible. Needless to say we can clock in 10km in a day of walking just doing this so makes for a good cal burn, but often leaves me not getting in the calories for the day (as in I end up getting under 1200 because of the burn and what I can eat).
Anyhow, best advice I can give is to go walking in an area that might have employment op's and choose a different area each week or the like depending on what area you are looking for employment in this might or might not work (as said for my hubby it hold promise for me not so much).
