If you are talking about your diastolic (bottom number) being 100-110, you MUST go to your doctor asap. This number is much too high, regardless of the cause, and puts you at risk for acute issues that could happen at any time. Please go to your physician today and let them know your numbers have been exceeding 100-110 so you can bring those numbers down into a safer area (less than 95 asap, and ideally less than 90 long term).

eat food. not too much. mostly plants.

Goal 1: 160lbs by May 15 (breast reduction day!)
Goal 2: 150 by July 1 (summer!!)
Goal 3: 135-140 by December 1 (ultimate goal weight)

I checked several of the diabetic meal plans for 1200-1550 calories.
All contained about 1000-1500 milligrams of sodium for the day.
You can add sodium to your tracker to see how much you are getting daily.
Let me know if you need the steps to do this.

Since your blood pressure readings are increasing, I suggest that you return to the eating plan provided by your doctor or dietitian. I also encourage you to contact your doctor.

This site, our members and our experts are not able to tell you medically "why" this is happening....but it should be checked.

Check your sodium on the tracker and adjust accordingly. And make sure you are getting enough potassium and fiber and drinking enough water to flush it out. Also have you started any new meds or hormone therapies. They effect your blood pressure. I know because I am going through it.

I am on the Sparks People DiabeticDiet because I am a diabetic. I also have Blood Pressure issues. I am on medication for that. My blood pressure was averaging about 120/83 before I started this diet. Now, since I was staying on this diet consistently (about 2 weeks now) my blood pressure readings are skyrocketing. It is supposed to be considered in my Sparks diet. My last couple weeks' readings are averaging about 160/105 or more!!! Today, I just made up my own menus with low-sodium foods, but I liked the idea of having pre-planned menus. lol emoticon

I'm confused are you talking about Blood Pressure or Blood Sugar readings? Blood pressure is usually 2 numbers??? Are you sharing the bottom number??

I would encourage you to follow the eating plan provided by your health care provider which is more individualized for your specific needs.
