I get that bloated feeling fairly often. I'm giving Beano a try to see if it is enzyme related.

you guys are awesome!!

It very well could be the sodium intake. I do get the frozen meals and I eat maybe one of them per day to replace a big lunch or something. I have switched all my breads to 100% whole wheat. I check the labels and make sure that it really is wheat. Breakfast usually consists of turkey bacon (2 slices) liquid egg whites, and a whole wheat english muffin. Lunch is sometimes a frozen meal, if not, its a whole wheat thin sandwhich bread thingy (lol) and fat free turkey breast in the pack from walmart. Dinners are usually whatever my mother in law fixes since boyfriends family has sit down meals at night time, but i do make sure i do not over eat them. Veggies for snacks in the middle, or wheat thins or veggies or something.

I will deff have to start keeping track of my sodium intake and see if that could be something to look out for. I never even thought of that!! but i guess you learn something new every day, especially in this weight loss journey. thank you guys soo much for your input. you guys make the small struggles worth it to know i am not the only one :)

My bloating starts when I have bread. I love bread but don't care for the bloat. I take a tsp of Braggs Vinegar daily. It seems to be working.

Eating lots of raw fruits & veggies also often contributes to bloating because they are tougher on your digestive track and result in gas. I hear that eating cooked veggies more often than raw helps with this a little...

Do you monitor your sodium intake? I can usually keep mine below 1500 if I eat whole foods and stay away from processed stuff. Last week I had to travel and estimated the sodium I had on the day I flew back was 4500 (mostly because I grabbed a turkey sandwich at the airport to eat on board...I thought I did well because I didn't eat any of the bread but while I was eating I was thinking this sure is salty turkey, and there was probably 1/2 pound of turkey there - I ate it all)...anyway the next morning my weight was up 5 pounds from the previous week...it freaked me out but I couldn't change the past so concentrated on doing better...went 2 days drinking lots of water to flush away bad stuff and eating nothing processed and lost all of the fluid I was retaining...5 pounds gone...I was amazed...I'm back on track and feeling great and I will probably never eat deli turkey meat again...keep up the water drinking it is great for you!...try to monitor your sodium intake...might be an eye-opener!

Midol does seem to help me with bloating, but only hormonal-related bloating.

What have you been eating? Drinking water is good, but it can't counteract the damage you do with sodium overdoses. When I'm feeling bloaty, it's one of three things:

1) It's hormonal, and I'm about to start my period. This is just something I have to tough out.

2) I've had too much sodium. Eating out a lot, and prepackaged foods, can be very high in sodium, and cause bloating.

3) Gas. I'm lactose intolerant, but adore cheese. Gas always makes me bloaty. :)

If you'll consider sharing your nutrition tracker, we can take a look and see if your diet's the culprit. You can't "flush" your body (it's not a toilet) but avoiding bloating is more about prevention than treatment.

I have replaced this month, nearly all of my liquids with water. I gave up soda, tea, juice and anything else you can think of. Its always water with breakfast, lunch, dinner and at work. sometimes i will have a diet green tea, but usually not. I just dont have a taste for anything else. I even went so far as to buy a diet soda, took three drinks and ditched it.

I have also been feeling really bloated lately. Im not sure if its because of all the water i am drinking and not enough exercising or what (i have taken this past week off at the gym due to sickness) and I just feel bloated all the time. I have lost 10 lbs this month and i feel great, other than that fat bloated feeling. Any suggestions?? I thought about trying some midol or something to get rid of the bloating, but i'm not so sure it would work with it being for that personal time of the month....is it just me??
