I love GOOD water! My daughter tells me that I am a "water snob"! If water doesn't taste good to you, I suggest buying bottled water, filtering yourself, or put in a RO water filterer. It's worth the cost if you will be able to drink it and it will be much better for you.

Slices of Orange, Lemon, and/or Lime with a sprig of fresh mint has the water going down easy for me. Also, I don't drink other beverages like coffee, soda, and tea as often as I used to that leaves more room for the water.

I like to add a splash of fruit juice to my water. Cherry limeade or fruit punch work well.

Drinking hot green tea makes it easy for me to get my 8 cups in. Make sure to get decaf, because caffeinated beverages don't count toward your 8 a day.

I find I chug my water. Even though I work at a desk and my bottle of water is in front of me, my day can get so busy that my hands rarely leave my keyboard. So, if I sit down and quickly drink my first 3 glasses of water in the morning, I know I will be on track to get my 8 glasses in before the end of the day.

I find it hard to keep track of how much water I'm drinking a day, especially since I work in a lab and beverages are only allowed at your desk (of course). So I bought a 20-ounce water bottle and I aim to drink one full bottle in the hours before lunch, and another full bottle in the hours after lunch, which brings me to 5 glasses. When I get home I usually drink another 2 glasses by bedtime so this strategy makes it a little easier to get very close to the "8 glasses a day".

I find it hard to drink enough water too.. I just love full flavored drinks! But I found that if I make a drink like crystal lite in a pitcher.. then only put about a cup in a glass, fill up the rest with cold water... it works for me!

I never liked water very much, but I cut out all soft drinks and chemicals. That forced me to drink it!

Most of the time I just drink it plain. When I do have the room in the fridge I like to experiment with infusions of fruits, veggies, herbs and spices.

I bought a pitcher that has the infusion tube in the center and place the ingredients in and fill with water and refrigerate.

I am constantly experimenting with different combinations.

Additionally I have a water dispenser at home and it tastes much better than well or tap water. I live in Florida so the latter is not an option.

I also employ the strategy of chugging and use a 20 ounce glass.

When I get hungry or have urges to cheat I also try a drink of water . It usually helps me.

I have one of those clear, insulated cups with a straw. For years I overlooked them (for using to travel with - I don't like the straw sticking up), but one day I came home with a Starbucks water cup (it was large, clear and had a straw), and kept refilling it. I realized it helped me get my water in! So I purchased a reusable one just to keep at home. I have a different water bottle that I take to work and on the go. But at home I keep my cup filled and drink out of it all day long.

Because I am a dialysis patient and no longer have working kidneys, I am limited to how much I can drink daily.....4 cups of liquid, whether it is water or anything that would be considered liquid in its warm state such as jello, ice cream, soup, etc.

Do be careful not to drink too much water.....you can overwork your kidneys. You want to be healthy, just remember to take care of what's on the inside too emoticon

I have to have my water very cold to drink. I dislike room temp water. I keep bottles at my desk everyday. I use to dislike drinking it also, but have gotten much better over the last year or so. I love the ideas of flavoring the water. I have tried blueberries and strawberries in the past, as I was reading this and eating some kiwi, I think that I will freeze some slices in the ice tray tonight and add them to my water in the morning. Can't wait to try to cherry idea also.

I fill a big, pretty, glass pitcher in the morning with water. I then add slices of cucumber and lime or lemons and a few raspberries to make my own "spa water". I try to finish the pitcher by dinner time.

I have a 24 oz coffee mug that I fill with 20 oz of coffee and 4 oz of milk every morning, once the coffee is gone (usually just before lunch) I rinse it and refill with water - I then keep refilling it with water through the afternoon (usually I drink 2 or 3 full 24 oz cups) before I leave work. I also keep a water glass around with me once I get home, in the summer time I carry a separate water bottle as I need to drink more in the heat.

I just keep my glass close to me and drink it whenever I see there. At night before I relax on the couch, I go brush my teeth so that I have the fresh feeling in my mouth. Then, I drink two large glasses of water and never touch a snack in front of the TV.

I know water is great. However, my doctor was telling me that when she went to a conference on kidney disease, a specialist in that field told her to 'please tell your patients not to drink exessive amounts of water as it over works the kidneys". I guess moderation in all things really is true.

I never seem to be able to get my 8 glasses of water in. Personally, I don't care for water. If I have fresh lemons in the house, I will squeeze some juice into the water to make it more palatable. I don't like cold, ice water either. I struggle more at work as I'm often too busy to stop and drink except on my breaks. At home, well..........that's just as sad. A pretty bottle doesn't work for me. My brain knows it's water. LOL. I struggle daily. On a good day I get 6 in.

Nobody has mentioned adding mint leaves to your water. Give that a try for a different taste

Ok, so I'm trying to read through this thread to find the answer to my one burning question and I'm getting confused. Does it have to be water, or do other drinks count...if so, how do I know which ones to count as water and which ones not to. I drink hot tea lot (sadly, with splenda and milk)..does that count? Diet soda? (I don't drink alot but might?) Vitamin water?

Can anyone clear this one up for me please?

ps: sorry if it's a dumb question..still learning the ropes.

What are chia seeds? I like the idea of putting lemon or lime in my water, I will try that. It is getting easier to get in the 8 glasses a day. I like to have crystal light once in a while. I'm finally drinking more water than soda!

Everyday is a new beginning.

This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it!

I love the chia seed idea.....I'll add that to my lime or lemon. I got an 8 cup Brita pitcher and it sits right on my counter. I keep a glass with lemon or lime sitting next to it and drink all day. Have taken to adding lemons to water at work too!!

Try putting a maraschino cherry at the bottom of your water bottle or your glass. The juice sweetens the water a little, and at the end you get the reward of eating the cherry!

Drinking my eight glasses of water each day has become a habit - I might even go so far as to say I am "addicted" to drinking water. I can't seem to go without it now. I usually drink 4 to 6 of the 16.9 ounce bottles of water each day, and quite a bit more if I've been working out. I will sometimes add green tea to the water bottle or some crystal lite.

I drink flavored carbonated water. I generally drink 1 can a day but it breaks up the regular water routine and it makes me feel like it is some sort of treat. Like what a can of pop might feel like. No calories, no caffeine and still has a lot of flavor.

Each day I start with a glass of water, then I drink 16 oz before each meal or snack. Doing this helps fill me up and gets the 8 glasses completed.

Remember to take time to enjoy the journey!

I love water w/ a little bit of lemon in it. Now that I have a selter machine I love it even more. My tip is when I am at work (I sit at a desk for 8 hours) I have a timer set to go off every 45 minutes & when it does I take 5 gulps of water. For one it helps me to not loose track of time to drink water through out the day & it accually makes time go by faster at work because I am like "wow, that was 45 minutes alread? Cool!"

When I'm at work, I get a styrofoam cup and fill it up at the water cooler as soon as I walk in. Every time I drink a glass of water, I use my fingernail or a pen and create a hash mark ... it helps me keep track of how much water I've consumed each day. I always try to get in at least 8 cups full while I'm at the office.

My husband takes an old empty 64 ounce container filled with water to work everyday. His goal is to take it full come home empty. I use my new 24 Ounce Tervis glass at work. I try to get 48 ounces down me at work then 24 more in the evening after I am home. Both ways are working for us!!!

In our house, we keep the mio add-ins on hand at all times! There are so many different flavors & all are 0 cal, 0 sodium, 0 fat. I have 4 16 oz bottles numbered with labels 1-4 that I fill up each evening & keep the number 1 on my night stand so I can begin drinking it as soon as I wake up. I carry the others with me in my purse if i'm going to be out & I know that I have to finish all 4 by bedtime, but usually finish earlier & drink extra!

Yes, Crystal light added to a bottle of water counts, but try to not have more than a few per day. Pure water is kinder to your kidneys.

It sounds silly, but I keep different sized containers in the fridge at work (24 oz, 20 oz, and 16 oz). Then I challenge myself to "cycle" through them, and compare how many I get through each day. If I made it through all of them (24,20, and 16) once and then 24 oz one day, I try to do all of them plus the 24oz and 20 oz the next day. I make it a competition with myself which helps keep me motivated.

Water helps you float through the day....and helps to manage your food program....So, hop on your personal raft...and float to a healthy weight! With that said, I also try to use special glasses or containers that remind me that I'm doing something special for myself!!! emoticon
