I dont agree with LOVE4KITTIES & ANARIE....candida is a real problem when candida albicans proliferate. Everyone has candida in them..candida is a fungus also called mold, yeast and mushrooms. There are over 80 species of candida...and when you have candida it is almost impossible to lose weight...your always tired and have no energy amoung other symptoms like headache, aches and pains, brain fog, frequent vaginal yeast infections, toenail fungus and much much more.

I know... I had candida and it is usually a precuror to diabetes (which I became pre-diabetic) and Celiac Disease can be triggered by Candida albicans so for the person who said to have both is rare is not well versed in candida...if you have never had it ...it is hard to understand.
Since I eat low carb I have had no problems with candida or my pre-diabetes, in fact, my blood sugar has been normal for 1 1/2 years now...

Both Celiac and Candida affect the gastrointestinal system. Yes Candida albicans are a precursor to many diseases including Epstein Barr, diabetes, celiac, AIDS, and cancer and maybe many more.

Candida proliferates in alkaline medium or Ph...This includes coffee, tea, carbonated beverages, sugar/junk, citrus, tomatoes, alcohol, etc. Other foods that need to be eliminated are cheese, wine beer and nutra sweet. Beneficial bacteria such as acidopohilus can help if taken daily, which I do. Candida proliferates when eating sugar...a low carb diet is the best. No nighshade foods. Absolutely no mushrooms...and no anti-biotics for at least a year.

Candida Albicans can slowly destroy the digestive system, immune system and essentially drain you of energy and health so it is really important to provide you body with vitamins and minerals. Yes a regestered dietician will help....sometime a doc will give you Nystatin to help combat the fungus. It usuallyy a liquid. Be sure to keep your mouth clean, gagle, floss, brush or you will hget mouth thrush which is yeast in the mouth that tingles you tongue or burns depending on how severe.

Celiac Sprue is triggered by gluten proteins..Yeast feeds on sugar, gluten destroys our health, both trigger hidden fires of inflammation in the body, inflammation causes disease...it' a domino affect.

The anti-fungal, low carb, no sugar, no wheat, no gluten, no artificial sweeterners, is very restictive. No pasta, no pizza, no crackers, no baked goods, etc.

Yes the thyroid can be affected...thyroid nodules...probably para thyroid disease....go grain free if thats the case..Taking the No-Grain Diet means having to eliminate artificial sweeteners from your system. A grain free diet is one without any rice, corn, wheat, barley, rye or oats. This diet is also a gluten free diet.

Combining protein, such as turkey or eggs, with vegetables is a good choice that is likely to keep you satisfied. I know your a vegan but you have to get good protein to build up your immune system.

Crack a couple of eggs, grab a huge handful of spinach and dump it right on top. Then start mixing and scrambling all that yummy goodness together

Buckwheat is in fact a seed. Van's All Natural Gourmet Buckwheat waffles are Gluten-Free.
All fruits and vegetables are not grains, (except for corn, which is a grain) but berries have the least impact on blood sugar. I would elimate all fruits except berries til you feel better...then eat only low carb fruits...pears, peaches, plums, granny apples, apricots, kiwi, berries.

If you think you want a 2nd opinion go See a doctor that specializes in "Infectious Disease" as for the thyroid see an Endocrinoligist who speializees in meatbolic disorders ...thyroid, diabetes, etc. Thyroid nodules can be removed.

If the doctor put you on such a restrictive diet, then it's his/her job to give you the tools to do it-- meal plans, guidelines, and/or a referral to an RD.

I would definitely get a second opinion. That's always a good idea, and it's especially important when you're dealing with a diagnosis like candidiasis AND celiac. It's really, really unusual for the same person to have both of those, and it's really, really common for doctors to give one or both of those diagnoses to overweight patients without testing, because they think telling you that sugar and flour are bad for you will stop you eating junk and make you lose weight. But they don't realize how very difficult and discouraging it is to have to avoid so many healthy foods as well as the junk.

Thank you everyone for the suggestions. My doctor is an MD and my health has greatly improved. Boredom is the problem. I will also check out the Vegan suggestion.

A,

The previous posters are correct that we don't offer meal plans that meet these guidelines. I would recommend asking your doctor for a referral to see a registered dietitian who can create a meal plan specific to your needs.

Honestly, whenever someone says they have a doctor who has diagnosed them with systemic Candida and the person is not seriously, seriously ill with something like HIV or cancer, I start wondering what sort of doctor has given them this diagnosis. You may want to get a second opinion from a medical doctor (MD) and, if the new doctor agrees that you need to be on such a restrictive diet, you may want to request a referral to a registered dietitian (an RD, not a nutritionist).

Have you tried Dr. Joel Furhmans site for ideas. He is a Vegan and runs some great sessions and has good recipes. Good luck.

Spark won't be able to adjust for you in terms of meal planning, you'll have to create your own meal plans and enter into the tracker if you want to track your caloric counts.

I suggest you sit down with old fasion pen and paper and come up with some meal plans, and then just start tracking.

Best of luck

My doctor has me on a Gluten-free, absolutely no sugar in any form (including most fruits) diet and I am Vegan. Problem is Candida, Celiac and Thyroid nodules. What I am looking for is a daily meal planner that stays within these lines. I don't know if sparkspeople can do that.
Obviously I am new.
