Costco Canada sells a box of 18 for $17, which is cheaper than I can make it at home, not to mention dates are not the easiest fruit to blend. I have made them and it is very time-consuming, so that also factors into it.

Fantastic product - lots of great flavors. I love Cashew Cookie and Coconut Cream. I've tried just about every type and have yet to find one I didn't like.

I love them. If I can read the ingredients of something and know every single ingredient, its a winner in my book. they are very expensive in my opinion though luckily i work at a Biglots and we got in 18 count variety packs for 6 dollars so i stocked up if you live in an area that has Biglots, sometimes you can get awesome deals like that I keep a stash in my truck just in case im out and about with no healthy options to eat they may not have alot of protein but they are def better for you than many other grab and go choices i would also suggest trying to make them when i run out of my stash i will probably turn to that option

Oh, you're right. It is the Uber ones that I'm thinking of specifically. I like the whole nuts and stuff, too.

I like them, but they tend to be very sweet and some are also very salty. That said, you can't much beat the ingredient list for most of them, and they're a nice thing to be able to pick up in an emergency. KIND bars are also good.

I like the Larabar Uber varieties. I stock up when they are on special. It's a good thing to keep with me for those "I'm starving" moments when I'm out & about. at the grocery I frequent, they will often have a flavor they are going to discontinue marked WAY down. KIND bars are really good, too.

I just tried a Larabar yesterday and discovered that I like them! At 220 calories for a bar, it's a very "expensive" snack; but it's a great choice to keep in the car for emergencies. I'm going to look for the recipes you guys referred to and try to make some....

I enjoyed them when I was experimenting with a paleo diet. Definitely not something I'd eat every day, but they are definitely good to add into rotation. I do find them to be VERY sweet, which helps keep me from overeating them. They're definitely a good thing to have on hand when sweet treats are tempting you. I personally enjoy the apple pie flavor the best.

They're great.....lots of wonderful flavors. You can even try making your own, if you're so inclined. ohsheglows.com/2008/12/08/homemade-banana- bread-larabars/ Make 3 or more out of the recipe & you've got calories beat on store-bought. Make a bunch of mini bars & you're WAY ahead of the game! I like making things like this that might be more complicated or time-consuming with a friend or my daughter (who's also a friend). Bon Appétit!

I'm a fan of larabars. I took 15 of them with me to Europe this summer as a 'just-in-case' (in case vegan options weren't available while traveling) and they were lifesavers. I also throw them in my purse and eat them as a snack between classes during long days.
There's other brands of bars I like, Halo, Simple, or Luna bars are good but some are more like dessert.

Here are some of my portable snack idea's. 1.) Raw nuts and seeds 2.) Low sodium jerky 3.) Raw veggies with a nut butter to dip ( They even make little grab and go containers of jiff ) 4.) Roasted edamame 5.) Home made blue berry flax muffin ( check out spark recipes for ideas) 6.) Kale Chips If you get a mini cooler pack you could carry cold snacks too such as string cheese, greek yogurt, cut up fruit, hard boiled eggs, deli meat roll ups ect. Hope this helps!

I love em. So yummy and last forever in a backpack or purse for emergencies. My favorites are chocolate chip cookie dough and carrot cake. I did not like the apple or cherry ones. They are more like a dessert to me but do fill a void if needed. Also, they are gluten free!

If you go to SparkRecipes (down the right side of this page under Quick Links), you can type "Larabars" into the search box, and it will give you recipes for lots of different kinds of bars. I agree that they aren't difficult to make, and can save you a good amount of money. Hope that helps, Coach Jen

Mostly, I'm looking for something I can grab and throw in my bag for between meals (especially Tuesdays and Thursdays where I'm in class from 9:30-3:30 with only 15 minute breaks between). The sale is 5 for $5, so from what I saw on their website, that's a good little deal for a snack bar. I also will be carrying fruit or vegetable sticks with me to eat as well. I'm already pretty crunched for time in the mornings and during the day at school (which is why I'm glad my boyfriend got my a thermos set and his mother is getting me a crockpot). I'd like to make my own, but I'm not sure where to start with that.

They're not filling at all. Instead of buying them I'd recommend making your own. They're super easy to make, and it takes less than 10min to make a batch.

Larabars are very good. They are all natural, "real" food. I personally think they are a great option for on the go. Their only downfall is they are a little low in protein. I suggest buying 1 or 2 to see if you like them, and if you do, stock up!
