Like as stated before, make an appointment with your doctor to know for sure what's up. In the mean time I would definitely make sure you're getting enough water. That's one of the biggest reasons people feel many of the symptoms they feel. I know I certainly get dizzy when I don't have enough water.

Dizziness and nausea can be caused by lots of different things, including low blood sugar or medications. Since the symptoms lately are different than you're used to experiencing, I'd get it checked out by your doctor just to be safe.

So, lately I've been experiencing bouts of dizziness and nausea. I've experienced a lot of nausea in the past year or so because I've been put on hormone medication (basically birth control) to combat ovarian cysts, and the pills have a horrible history of making me really sick. I'm also used to dizzy, as I have low blood pressure naturally and I have never gotten the hang of "soft, slow movements" (I like to just bolt up and get going).

Lately, though, these two issues have been feeling...different than normal. I don't know how to describe it. I get dizzy randomly when I'm just standing around, especially if it's even just a little bit too cold or too warm. I get extra dizzy and nauseous after I eat certain foods, too- primarily, vegetables. I haven't been able to eat any cucumber (my favorite!) or celery or lettuce or carrots or bean sprouts or broccoli without getting majorly dizzy and sick afterwards, which kills my appetite. The taste of the food itself is still appealing, but one day we had summer rolls (think spring rolls without the cooking/frying) and after half of one, I was still hungry but I was so dizzy, so nauseous, and then my vision started cutting out.

I always try to solve problems like this with diet changes before I see a doctor, because often times it's caused by my low blood pressure and it happens when my sodium intake is too low (less than 1000 mg a day, which is easy for me to eat under because I don't eat red meats or many processed foods). But the thing is, I'm starting to wonder if this might be sugar related?

I always- and I do mean always- feel better about 15-30 minutes after eating fruit. When I eat a complex carb, I feel even worse until about 30-45 min to even an hour and a half, and then it gets better, the nausea goes away, but I don't feel as good as when I eat the fruit.

I did some research into morning sickness and sickness from birth control, and I found some sources say that the nausea is caused by low blood sugar. Is this true? If it is true, could it be that my dizziness and sickness is caused at least in part by low blood sugar? And if that's possible, could birth control cause that, or what conditions could? Is there anything wrong with managing this by eating more simple sugars when I need to? Obviously I should see a doctor, but I am more interested in managing it for myself instead of having my doctor prescribe more drugs for me, so while I will mention it to my Dr when I go in for the check-up regarding the pills, I just want some place to start and to see if anybody has an idea of what's up.
