During lots of the cold weather months I either use my Biggest Loser 2 dvd, which is programmable (can pick & choose different exercises, from 10-60 minutes) OR do many of the SP videos I've got saved in a folder on my desk top (computer), including both cardio emoticon & strength training. emoticon

Jazzy music and dance dance dance. Your 80ish person may get a kick out of it too.

Pinterest has tons of body weight, at home workouts you could do. YouTube has ALL sorts of workouts....from strength, to core work, zumba, Pilates and yoga!

I workout at home as well :) these two have been wonderful resources for me.

I got myself and exercise ball, resistance bands (think Pilates) and a pair of 5lb and 10 lb weights...the videos on Sp are awesome to go with the gear I purchased. Sometimes I just lift weights or stretch or do some learned pilates or yoga moves while watching my fav show and always do a video in the am if I am not getting out to walk, usually 30 min everyday is what I do sometimes 2x a day like if I am walking the dogs. House cleaning is another way I sneak in extra exercise. Sometimes if we go out shopping I will meander around the store extra long to get in more walking esp. on a bad weather day

Here's a link to our Fitness Resource Center:

www.sparkpeople.com/resource/fitness.asp

There you'll find videos, a workout generator that will give you at-home strength routines and more. This site has lots of resources and idea for working out at home.

Hope that helps,

Coach Jen

Why not try some Spark People videos from this site! They are free and very good. You could also get a set of dumb bells for strength training. I also like Leslie Sansone's videos for walking indoors. I thought it sounded crazy until I tried it, but they work.

I am home-bound of sorts, I take care of an 80 year old woman most of the day. I was wondering if you could share with me some exercises I can do to help me be successful in 2013.

I don't get much of a chance to go out and exercise and the weather has not been warm enough to do much of anything outdoors.

Thank you :)
