Towards the end of my weight loss I actually upped my calories to 1500-1600, and that sped up my weight loss rate. You have to trick your body sometimes... it gets used to whatever you put in it.

It's so very typical for your weight loss to slow down once you get closer to your goal. It took me almost a year and a half to lose the last 10 pounds. Like everyone else has said, it's totally fine to eat in the middle to upper end of your ranges. You might want to reevaluate what you're eating and decide whether there's something you could eat to help keep you fuller for a longer period of time.

I agree with the previous posters. It's okay to eat in the middle to upper end of your range, especially if you're feeling hungry. It's also normal that your weight loss would slow down at this point. Once you get to within 15-20 pounds of your goal, a normal rate of weight loss is 1/2-1 lb per week. The fact that you're still losing 4-5 pounds per month with 30 pounds to go is a great rate of progress.

Congrats on your weight loss so far!

You could easily eat 1,400+ calories and still lose weight. Just make sure you are eating below maintenance and you'll continue to lose.
It looks like you are pretty close to your goal.

You have a range for a reason, so I suggest you use it. If you are hungry then you should add in another snack.

I have been on a 1200 calorie diet for 8 1/2 months and have lost 74 pounds, 30 to go. My weight loss has slowed down to 4-5 pounds a month. I have been feeling much hungrier lately. Is my body telling me it needs more? I don't exercise much. I have weirdly gotten foot, knee and leg injuries during this time on top of existing arthritis. Could I increase to 1300 calories on my hungrier days?
