maybe... for some people... but for me, my waist/middle is the last place I gain weight and the first place I lose weight. Even when my BMI was obese, my waist-height and waist-hip ratios were "excellent" because my body preferentially stores fat in my thighs, NOT my middle. Everyone is different.....

Nah...it's only on the hips until we take control of our exercise & eating habits. The choice is ours....isn't that great! We control what stays on our hips & what doesn't!

Go for it...make tomorrow the best day you ever had!

to me, that mantra goes against eating in moderation.

it's "all or nothing" and "black and white" thinking...

I think it's just a nice reminder to basically eat in moderation if there's any truth to it emoticon

I'm w/ Kylar on this one.

Also, when I lost my weight, the biggest area it went away from was my middle area. I still eat cake, and other fattening food. So, if that article is correct, I would be still fat around my middle area. I'm not.

I would like to see the actual study report. This seems horribly wrong in every way, shape, and form. Seems a lot like the broscience of "don't eat carbs at night, or it goes straight to fat!"

I'm 5'8" stinks being shorter
Summer 2011- 215 lbs. Peak weight
Christmas 2011- 200 lbs
Start of summer 2012- 170 lbs

Fighting weights (Same day weigh ins)-
New Breed Lightweight (159) 8/4/12
weighed in at: 155
IBJJF Featherweight (150) 9/15/12
weighed in at: 148
Naga Featherweight (149) 12/1/12
weighed in at: 148

Goal is to maintain around 152. This leaves me in easy cutting range of featherweight.

An interesting article I found, this will make me think twice about how big of piece of cake I eat even as a cheat on a special occasion ;)

Read if you'd like - it's about how quickly fat is stored around the waistline.
