Cheese and bread.

However, when I really look back, I'd say eating one meal per day was at the root of many evils. I would go most of the day eating very little, gorge at dinner on anything and have 2 plates full, then snack in the evening. That caused of domino effect of low energy in the day, low activity, and when I did reach for food the need was sudden, unplanned, and therefore more likely to be unhealthy. Caffeine from coffee and diet coke added to that problem.

If you bring forth that which is within you, that which is within you will save you. If you do not bring forth that which is within you, that which you do not bring forth will destroy you.

Mine was (and still is) things cupcakes, cake, homemade cookies... stuff like that. If it's there, I really struggle with limiting myself. Thankfully, I can just avoid it by not having any at home. I'm lucky that my BF (that I live with) doesn't really like that kind of thing so he doesn't care if it's not around.

I used to live in Chicago, and one of the best cupcake shops in the city was at the end of my street, I walked by it on my way home from work, cupcakes were only $2, and they stayed open til 10pm on weeknights and midnight on weekends. Talk about bad news.

Also if there are things around like fancier cheeses, cured meats (like good salami), crackers etc are around, I have a hard time with that too. I do not keep these in the house which is also good for my budget too. But if I'm at a party and they're there... look out.

Snacking! Right after work is tough, and while I'm cooking I tend to nibble on whatever I'm preparing. At work I'm usually ok and am able to restrict myself to a few healthy snacks, unless someone brings in cheese&crackers, cookies, chips etc. Then I tend to go overboard!

The hardest part of my day is after work too. I need to stay active. If I come home and relax in front of the TV, I find myself snacking on all the wrong foods. So I try to start dinner right when I get home plan some exercise while dinner is cooking.

For me it is/was/will always be (I suspect) Calorie Creep. Calorie creep is when you think that having weighed your pasta 9,328 times, you now know how much you can have and you can eyeball it. But you can't. God forbid I pour olive oil from a bottle without measuring it out -- that is a fast way to ruin an entire day's calories.

Not weighing and measuring food = certain disaster for me. I have to do it until the day I die.

This is a discussion to see what is or was your hardest part of eating that you are working on or have accomplished and maybe if you have any hints/tricks to assist the rest of us. I will go first.

Mine is after work I tend to binge on bad food such as chocolate, crackers and chips. So its almost like I add in another meal and its because for some reason my mind tells me I am starving and can't wait 30 mins for dinner...I am trying to overcome this by eating a snack right before coming home from work (1 hour commute) or grabbing a couple carrots at home.
