Instead of "making myself" exercise, I find that I'm looking forward to that time... it's great!

I was feeling overwhelmed by my desired weight loss goal (I am not a patient person) so I split it up into 3 increments and focused on goal one. Before I knew it I was there! Now I am working towards goal 2 and it does not seem so far away.

Went shopping by myself today. Haven't done it for a year due to health issues, depression...etc. It was good to take my time, move at my own pace, shop for what I wanted. Tomorrow I will be driving to a doctor's appt. and a professional meeting 32 miles from my home. I feel like I'm getting my life back!!!

FINALLY started going to exercise class! The hubbie and I have gotten into the habit of going out to eat after work (which makes it difficult because the last class at the gym is the only one that I can make... after work)... but I think I have him OK with going 2X a week to Zumba, finally!

Congrats to everyone. All of you are very inspiring. Tonight we went out to eat. I love the Italian sub on focaccia bread. I only ate half and brought half home for lunch tomorrow! It's rare that I set out to NOT finish dinner out.

Bought four new tops on Saturday, all were 2 sizes smaller than when I started my life change program. Down 1 bmi level since I started with sparkpeople 2 weeks ago.

when i started back here at spark about a month ago, i could only walk down to the park gate and back home, and now a month later i can walk 3 laps around the parks outer walk path. walking to and from the park is about another lap around it, so i guess im doing about 4 laps 2 times a day, thats quite the feat for me. i currently weigh 227, and am 4'11, i also have cerebral palsey, and a few breathing problems, but ill not quit this time, i need to get healthier for me and my family. ill be 39 in dec and i want to be 125 by that time next year before im 40. one day at a time, and i keep track of all my eating here, it has been a god send for me. have a great day. my husband and i walk every morning before he goes to work and every night when he gets home, that helps keep me motivated to :)

Getting your exercise in every day may be a small victory by itself, but all together those days add up to a huge victory. I feel so proud when I do my exercise, even when I may not be "in the mood".
If you change your mind, you can change your body, and ultimately change your life~

1. Stayed within my calorie range yesterday and hit my macronutrient balance pretty well. 2. Did not give in to the peach cake at work - not even a nibble. 3. Had a particularly good workout yesterday. 4. Hid the scale in the closet this morning as I was becomning compulsive about weighing. Thank you for this conversation. Sometimes I forget to notice the small victories and get frustrated that the larger goal is so far away and my journey towards it is so slow with so many sidetracks.

My small victory for today was creating this account! It feels good just to get started moving in the right direction. My life has been utterly chaotic, and without discipline for quite a while now, and I need to get my mind and my body back into shape to make it through the next few months. Can't wait to see what I can do with this program to keep me focused and motivated!

I LOVE this thread! I wanted to share a few of today's small victories: 1. Got enough sleep last night and woke up happy on my own at 5 a.m.! 2. Set the treadmill at .1 mph faster and felt great for my 45-minute walk this morning. 3. Planned ahead enough to eat two whole slices of pepperoni pizza for dinner with a yummy cucumber salad I made myself. :) Here's to an excellent tomorrow!

OK, so first of all, you haven't been a member of SP too long, so not doing everything 'perfectly' now or EVER, really, is not a big deal. What helped me after decades of yo-yo dieting, even the first few years in SP, I decided to get which I read cover to cover before even doing anything. I basically started as if I was new here, even tho' it'd been a couple years. I started exercising 10 minutes a day; followed the suggestions of GRADUALLY adding healthy habits & eliminating unhealthy ones. The fact that you passed on the snacky-foods was a thing! You had a successful evening just by doing that. So the next time you go somewhere, maybe you'll skip the snacks & have one less drink (or something similar). Trust me (& SparkGuy)...doing things gradually, slowly, works SOOOOO much better than trying to do everything right from Day 1! In a year from now you will have gotten rid of SO many unhealthy habits & adopted so many healthy ones. Shoot, you may even set your mind on doing a 5K down the road--even walking, which my first one was since I weighed 200#.
