good point, FUCHSIA. I usually get 2 or 3 meals from one entrée!

Wok cooking is one of the quickest and healthiest ways to cook. So are baking broiling, etc.

Steer clear of the sauces because they are normally high in salt. If you must have sauce, ask for it on the side so you can drizzle it.

I love Pad Thai. I has a lot of calories normally because of all the noodles.

Tofu is wonderful for you. Watch it though because studies have shown it does not like estrogen and I have been talked to by cancer patients that there are studies about that too. Ask your dietician or doctor about that.

One thing to remember is that they usually use a lot of oil and each meal has more than one serving [I don't know about lunch portions, but the dinner portions at my old neighborhood Thai place were 3-4 servings!]. Keep an eye on those two things.

it is tough to figure out ethnic and int'l foods.

I love Thai food! We have a 5 star Thai restaurant in our little town. It is soooooo good. And they will swap out brown rice or extra vegetables for white rice.

this link may give you some idea so you can make an educated guess

I am going out to lunch today at our local Thai restaurant. I always have trouble with knowing if I'm making a good choice. I usually get Pad Pak with tofu. It's mixed vegetables (mushrooms, green peppers, snap peas, bean sprouts, carrots, cabbage) with some kind of brown sauce and a side of jasmine rice. I believe it is sauteed. It's hard to ask the staff there about healthy choices since they don't speak English very well. Can anyone let me know if this is a good choice? I love Shrimp Pad Thai and some kind of soy sauce noodle thing with broccoli and tofu, but I try to steer clear of those. I've read the Spark People article about Thai restaurants, but none of the healthy options they list seem to be at my local Thai place. Any advice?

I should also add that I eat seafood, but not chicken, beef or pork.
