The foods or more like junk that I have found I can't even have a taste of because it sets off major binges for me are:
Jelly Beans - have yet to meet a jelly bean that I hate lol
Cake- I love frosting....its like a drug to me
Ice cream - I always say I will eat just a small portion next thing I know I have had seconds or more.
kettle style popcorn-- especially the ones made at local fairs... oh it is dangerous, just one bite is NOT enough.

Flavored Potato chips, and anything containing more than 6 grams of refined sugar. It just makes me crave sugary foods and simple carbs like crazy a few hours later.

I agree with whoever said below that nutella is super hard to eat just one serving of. I made homemade vegan nutella over the weekend, and it's not as amazing as the real stuff, but it does have plenty of real nuts and cocoa in it. Am thinking it would make a yummy sauce tp dip strawberries in.

My off limit danger foods are:
-Homemade chocolate chip cookies
-Lays plain potato chips
-Tostitos Hint of Lime tortilla chips
-Nutella
-Fast food french fries

If I eat these things, I go absolutely crazy, and cannot resist binging. I allow myself to eat pretty much anything in moderation, but these foods are basically off limits, because they make me lose control.

Chips of any kind - I'm drawn to salty & savory! I have noticed that since i'm not eating chips & salty snacks much, I now enjoy sweets w/in control. But since they've never been by triggers - it's all working out quite nicely!

Have an awesome day!

Sugar. If i eat added sugars before 8 pm (natural sugar from fruit doesn't count) i get the munchies like crazy a few hours later. And not just for more sugar, but i get mad cravings for salty snacks as well, and simple carbs, anything to get me that blood sugar rush that i got from sugar.

Yesterday my downfall was a blueberry bagel with lowfat cream cheese from dunkin donuts. I never eat there, but i was starving after work and 1/4 cup of cashews wasn't going to tide me over from 4:00 til 7:30 when i would be home from yoga. When i got home, i stuffed myself with mostly healthy foods and a few unhealthy as well.

I think it's because of my activity levels earlier in the week (have burned about 2000 calories) and the fact that i didn't eat dinner til 9 pm the previous 3 nights, because i had to work late.

Mine would be pizza, cake, pasta salad, chocolate with caramel or toffee.

Only specific types and preparations are triggers, though. Like the cake has to be from the box with frosting from the tub. The pasta salad has to be made with an Italian vinaigrette type dressing. Cakes from a bakery/store are nauseating and pasta salads made with mayo don't interest me in the least. And the cake needs to be yellow or chocolate... not white or red velvet or whatever.

These are cases where being picky is good emoticon

Ice cream... But avoid that by keeping it out of the house.

But my biggest problem is delicious homemade chocolate chip cookies. My mom makes the most amazing cookies ever. She has perfected the recipe over the years- and actually has two different recipes depending on whether she wants to make soft or cookies. She makes half of the batches with a ton of extra chips, because that's how my brothers and I like them- practically half chocolate.

I would eat a whole dozen to myself in a sitting.

Peanut butter!

I was eating it for protein until I started tracking my nutrition and realized how much fat is loaded into it. Before I knew it, I ate all my fat for the day at breakfast and had to figure out how to get protein and carbs without eating anymore fat.

This is a close call between movie popcorn (complete with butter-flavored topping!) and chips (potato chips, corn chips and dip, any kind!). Whenever I go to the movies, I eat an entire LARGE tub of popcorn and have been known to go back for free refills...

While it's not necessarily a food , I'm pretty sure that diet pop makes me want to eat more. Ever since I was a little kid I've been pretty thirsty, but when I was younger I usually drank water, lots of it, but when I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes about twelve years ago I started to drink diet pop to get more of a sweet flavor and I think that fires up my appetite. I've been really working on ditching the diet pop and drinking more water and milk, it already seems to be helping.

I second the "mashed potatoes" comment, with ice cream coming in a close second.

I joked with a friend that if there was a way to make mashed potato ice cream, I would have some serious issues.

The good news is I haven't had a "danger food" for the 2+ weeks I've been really focused on eating right. Interesting...

Mashed potatoes. I don't make them often, but when I do I have to really try to hold myself back.

I often joke that if there were one food in the world that I wish had no calories, it would be mashed potatoes.

Mostly white carb products:

Baked treats (cakes, muffins, doughnuts)
White bread products
White rice
Mashed potatoes

Oh, and Chinese food... damn, just the smell and I want a pile and a shovel and stand back. Chinese buffets were one of the things that really did me in... I'm still too early in my diabetes/weight management program to chance getting take out.

Cookies... especially my own homemade oatmeal chocolate chip ones. I made them last week to take to a bbq over the weekend and I could not stop eating them, and pretty much made myself sick from eating the dough while making them! I was so glad once I took them out of the house.

I've discovered that though I can show great discipline with portion control, choosing healthy meals at restaurants, or requesting only half meals on the plate and half in a to-go container for indulgent meals, the one thing I CANNOT control myself around, even if I weigh out each single serving, and watch the categories tick up, and then over, my specified ranges, is Aged White Cheddar flavored Popcorn. I've been known to eat MULTIPLE family sized bags in a day! So now I just try not to even buy them. It's tough though, if they're on sale and I'm having a bad day.

What's your Achilles Heel food?
