Hershey's Special Dark Chocolate Chip Morsels! Put a tablespoon each of the morsels, raw almonds, raisins or craisins and it is enough to satisfy my craving for a chocolate bar.

Can't eat just a little. My brain tells me that an eight ounce chocolate bar is just one serving. Just have to abstain and be satisfied with the 25 calorie hot cocoa for a treat.

I used to make myself "chocolate oatmeal" for breakfasts: 1 packet plain, unsweetened instant oatmeal, (add water/milk per instructions) add 1+ tablespoon unsweetened cocoa powder, vanilla, and 1-2 packets of NuStevia packets. Optional: can add a T. of protein powder. Most evenings I have chocolate, my go to is: 1/3 c. unsweetened cocoa powder 1/3 c. coconut milk .5-1 T. butter Vanilla 2 NuStevia packets Microwave 1.5-2 minutes, stirring occasionally. It's like a rich, hot mousse.

Use unsweetened cocoa powder to flavor cream of wheat. Also add a little almond extract and a dash of cayenne pepper to boost the chocolate flavor.

Coffee cocoa frappe. Very low in calories, filling and yummy. Also love the Swiss Miss hot cocoa with only 25 calories. Love to put a half a package in my coffee.

Artsy, Sounds like you have a system that works well for you. I, too, have a system with my oatmeal and a slew of other grains, seeds and nuts. I also add a large teaspoon full of powdered cocoa and a mixture of spices. I add what ever fruit I have, always have blueberries and today, finally, cranberries are now in season and I love those. My adding the cocoa every morning seems to have curbed my appetite for chocolate. I very seldom find myself craving chocolate during the day. The spices I eat are a way for me to get them everyday. The point to all that I am saying is that this system works very well for me as yours does for you. I developed my own system for solving some of my bad habits and at the same time getting other nutrients. Continued good luck on your life style change.

Dark chocolate has nutrients that we need, just not in copious quantities (which is how my addictive being likes it). But for the moment I'm doing very well eating only 6 squares in the morning with my Teavana tea of "Green & Black" Organic Bittersweet chocolate with currants and hazelnuts. Absolutely the best chocolate fix I've ever had, and during the day when I get the urge to eat more, I remind myself of how much I love having those 6 little squares in the morning, and I'm okay.

Sometimes I eat Special K chocolate flavor. .... it's not too dreadful. And some hard chocolate candies are good. And sometimes I use the packets of oatmeal with chocolate....

Chocolate is chocolate. it doesn't have a substitute. If you like dark chocolate, lite chocolate, milk chocolate or hot cocoa, then indulge. it is one of my only things that i still eat. Maybe i eat it in moderation, but I still enjoy every lucious bite.

Try brewed chocolate. It's made just like coffee but with ground cocoa beans. It tastes a lot like hot chocolate but without the calories and with some of the benefits of coffee and tea. You can find suppliers online.
