I often freeze bread. Sometimes in slices but most oft the time in small packs. defrost it over night, perhaps 10 minutes in the oven - and fresh :)

I freeze whole wheat english muffins and whole wheat pita bread. To defrost, I put the pita bread in the fridge (it should be stored in the fridge, says on the package, idk why tho!), but I put the english muffins on the counter, unless I want it immediately, I'll defrost 1 in the microwave.

I freeze mine all the time. With tortillas (flatbread), I usually try to put something between each layer, so they don't get stuck together, and I can just remove one at a time.
Then, I take one out, put it in a plastic bag (like the kind you put veggies in, sometimes), or in a paper towel, and leave it to defrost.
For bread, I often will toast it in the frozen state.
In a pinch, I'll microwave it for a few seconds; but usually like someone else said, it may make it tough - one or two seconds can make a difference

Yes, I freeze my bread.
If you go by the way side on an eating bing, just get up and start again. I always say I will be on a diet for the rest of my life because I love food. But since Spark People I can eat the right foods and not get out of control. Keep up the good work no matter what people say about you. Love yourself. Do it for yourself and no one else. This keep me going.

I freeze bread and buns all the time. I find it works better if I use a freezer bag instead of the bag the bread comes in. When you defrost it, I take out just the amount I need it, put it in another bag and thaw it on the counter.

Bread freezes very well. I freeze all my bread products because it is so humid here; They go moldy in a day or 2.

Sometimes when I go to the grocery store the bread is Buy on Get one free. So I buy two loaves and freeze one. Then I let it sit out on the counter. Microwaves make bread tough.

Since becoming empty nesters we freeze most of out bread products. I prefer to let it thaw naturally, it does not take much time at all for a couple of slices of bread to thaw. if I forget to set it out ahead of time I thaw it in the microwave (10-15 seconds).

Has anyone frozen bread so it won't spoil? Can you do the same with buns? Tortillas? How do you defrost when you are ready to eat..microwave or just let it sit out? Thanks!
