I agree with Michelle's recommendations to eat fruits and veggies and have an active lifestyle, and swapping water for sweetened drinks, only allowing black coffee, unsweetened tea, or skim milk if need be.

The FDA is now suggesting you fill half of your plate with fruits and veggies, and the other half with other foods. I'd actually go as far as to say 2/3 should be fruits and veggies.

It also helps to reduce portion sizes during meals, and make up for that by adding small snacks between meals if you're hungry.

I definitely agree with the previous posters. A "diet" is just an Americanized word that we like to hear and take as a cure-all for our weight issues. If you drink a lot of non-water beverages, start by swapping those for plain water. Re-evaluate your dinner plate and fill your plate with 1/2 veggies. It's all about making conscious lifestyle changes that you can stick with. Diets are more or less drastic changes that are impossible to stick with in the long run.

There isn't one. Diets don't work. Well, they work in the short term, but take my word for it, you will gain it all back plus more.

Enter all your details into spark. Get a calorie range and eat within it. Read the articles on here about how to eat healthy. Look at the shared food trackers to get some ideas, too.

Best of luck with your lifestyle change.

There is no "one diet" that is best.

Some people do find that lower carb, or lower fat, or higher protein, or normally balanced, diet plans work best for them. Nothing is set in stone.

As long as you eat less calories than your body is burning you will lose weight.

You should probably start with looking at what you DO eat now, and thinking about how you can move that more towards the guidelines Spark offers you, if it's not that close already, in little steps. Small changes are more lifetime sustainable than "going on a diet" and will add up over time. :)

Diets don't work. It needs to be a lifestyle change if you want lasting results. Eat a balanced diet of mostly whole, real food and exercise daily. Works like a charm.
