I agree about having your doctor recommend a registered dietitian. When my blood sugar was a little higher than my doctor liked, he asked if I wanted him to recommend a dietitian to help me work on my food choices. However, I already knew exactly that I should and shouldn't eat (and how to read food labels and which carbs and good and which are bad, etc.). I just wasn't using that knowledge to help myself. But, if I hadn't already known which foods were going to help me and which ones would be bad for my system I would have gotten a lot from a professional. I'll bet someone who is trained for this could find a good variety of foods that you could eat.
'Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming -- WOW -- what a ride!
