Hey thank you guys for the perfect advice.
Anarie you are right. I should keep taking 2 weekly pictures and keep the weighing scale away for a bit.

A month isn't enough time to expect big results. It can take 6-8 weeks for any lifestyle change to show up on the scales! This includes fitness and diet. Assuming you're doing everything correctly, it can still take time for your body to adjust.

I think that given your past relationship with the scale, you need to break up with it. I LOVE Anarie's suggestion of not weighing until after Ramadan is over. Focus on the non-scale victories. Do the fitness tests here, and then try them again in a month. See how you feel, how your pants fit, how strong you are, how far you can run or jump or bike.

I haven't lost much at all in the last two months (I keep gaining and losing the same four lbs because I can't control my frickin' appetite) but I have lost three pants sizes since I got started, and I have started lifting more and more weight.

It's time to tell that scale you're not listening anymore ,and focus on what matters.

You're near your period. That's at least 1 kilo of water and possibly as much as 3. You're having back pains. That's another 1 to 3 kilos of water. There's no way for you to know how much YOU weigh right now and how much your back pain weighs. Until that's gone, it's like you're carrying a water jug with you every time you get on the scale. You will keep feeling sad and depressed every time you look at the scale-- so just don't look at it.

In fact, why not just put the scale away until after Ramadan? That's going to be about 12 weeks. Twelve weeks is long enough to see a little change if you eat well, but not so long that things will get out of control if you don't eat well. When you're close to a healthy weight, your weekly changes don't really correspond to what you did that week anyway. You only have a small amount to lose, and it's harder to see a small movement than a big one. If you stand there staring at a plant, you will never see it grow, and you might decide it's a waste of time to water it because it's not doing any good. But if you take a picture of it now, water it every day, and take another picture in 12 weeks, you'll see that it was all worth it. That's what your weight is-- a snapshot of one particular moment. The fewer snapshots you take, the more change you can see.

I know its hard right now - but try not to focus on the # on the scale. Work on nutrition, and exercise (assuming it fits your physical capabilities) and those 2 things will make you healthier. In the long run, you can & will lose the weight. You don't have control over the scale. But you do have full control over your nutrition & activity.

Hang in there. You'll make it thru this!

hola folks!
I had reached 67.6 kilos May 9th.
Yes, I have been on bed in the last 7 days. But, still eating right. And yet my weight is 69.3 kilos.
This is the time when I start binging again.
Every time I don't see results (in a month) I go back to eating more & more. Like last year in Sep or last year in March.
I have never left diet cokes and on 5th June it will be two months since I tasted it.
(yes my periods are due anyday....but they just have been playing hide and seek off late)

I baked marble cake and ended up licking the batter (twice) after seeing my UN-progress (my failure) on the scales!
This is my 2nd month here and I was supposed to be 66/65 kilos.
My sil ...was 58 kilos after her DD was born . And she ATE all...no workout yet lost. Ans since three weeks she is just eating less. But, all fried, meats etc. Yet she lost 4 kilos and now she is 50 kilos.
It's been 7 years since I saw me 62 kilos. And, I was so sure that by July 19th I will be just that!

In July our holy month Ramadans start and that would anyways would have reduced my fitness!

I know I was advised to not check weights before 2 weeks but I wanted to check anyways.
:(
