I do the same. This week it was Friday night. I had to have a friend drive me home. It was that bad. I haven't done that in a very long time though. Not again. On the other hand I did make it to level 10 last week. :)

Every day I allow something sweet, but only a little, controlled and don't let it take me over my calorie range.

I'd say I overindulge about once a month. It's the downfall of any program for me though.

perfect way to explain it purposedriven! I've also had to learn to eat what I want, when I want it, to avoid a full blown binge. I make room for small indulgences EVERYDAY... of course I keep it within my calorie limits. My current favorite is pepperidge farm chessmen cookies. Three decent sized cookies only sets you back 130 calories and all three only contain 5g of sugar, a delicious indulgence I never feel guilty about.

I allowed myself one glass of wine at ladies golf last night. I had had no wine since last Sunday. I didn't even enjoy it that much except that I got to toast with my gal friends after our golf game. I did not need or want another glass. Pretty proud of myself for exercising control over it!

Weekends are my "bad behavior" days. I just will not for the sake of being healthy flat out give up the bad foods in this world. We have too many good places to eat in Philly, and I'm a hell of a junk food cook myself. If I want a cheesesteak and cheese fries, I get it, same with pizza, fried foods, and chinese foods. The only thing I do now is cut portions. Where as before I might eat a whole cheesesteak, I now do half. 2 pieces of pizza instead of 4. Half of the General Tso's instead of all of it. I make a big breakfast on Saturday, (pancakes, eggs, pork sausage) then eat moderately throughout the rest of the day. My drinking (especially beer) is limited to Saturday and Sunday. That's it. Football season is hard for me, but with my new exercise regimen, I feel confident that I can get back on the horse on Mondays, and work my but off. I know I'd have even greater success if I was disciplined on the weekends too (Salads, and baked chicken on the weekends?!) but I feel my weekends are my reward for my hard work Monday thru Friday. I would go crazy if I couldn't taste the "forbidden fruits". LOL! I really have no gripes about my regimen. 20 pounds down thus far and counting! As long as I keep focused, a little junk is not going to derail me from my ultimate goal.

Almost every day. I add that indulgence to something healthy, like mayo to a tuna sandwich on wheat bread, or a couple teaspoons (not tablespoons) of ranch dressing to my carrot sticks, but not both. All foods can fit into a healthy diet. Another thing I've learned to do that helps is: If you can't eat what you love, love what you can eat! Apple slices dipped in fat free vanilla yogurt with a few raw almonds are delicious, and popcorn with a small drizzle of olive oil and a sprinkle of dried herbs is a good change of pace from butter and salt. It took a month or so for me to get used to, but I've come to know that eating right doesn't *have* to suck, and if I really do eat right, I usually won't get excruciatingly hungry.

I indulged today. In past years, this 'indulgence' would have been what I considered a healthy choice and part of a nutritious diet. I had Carl's Jr. for dinner - BBQ chicken sandwich, fried zucchini, 1 tablespoon of dipping sauce- 700 calories! Thankfully, I was light on calories for the day, so it evened out. The zucchini were the first fried food I've had in about three weeks- i didn't taste that good, and didn't taste like what I remembered. It tasted.... artificial.. maybe slightly chemically, if that makes sense? Isn't that odd?

For those of us with a lot of weight to lose and who have been down this path before, we know if indulging triggers binges or. Causes us to go off plan for days, weeks, months even years at a time. We just have to be honest with ourselves. We love to play mind games, justifying. Indygirl says her "just this once" attitude allowed her to become over 400lbs. So for me I cannot indulge in sweets and fried foods. I have redefined what indulge means. Now I buy those high priced mangos and berries out of season. I love them and I am worth it. Fresh organic produce is cheaper than a hospital stay. Does that mean I never slip? No. We all slip up. But Indygirl has taught me that one mistake does not have to lead to two...three...four..... When I was younger, yes I could have a dessert day. Now at 47 life is too stressful for that. But that is me. The answer is to be honest with yourself.

Never really... I know I will get all kinds of flack for posting this, but I just can't seem to justify eating crap when I am working so hard in the opposite direction. I know I will have to sooner or later... but like everything in life for me now... it's moderation.

I indulge daily in something. I count and track it. Every day should include an indulgence, IMO. But within your means, and to achieve your goals. Daily- typically my glass of wine. I enjoy having a glass of wine with my husband in the evening. It is counted every day. If I know I might have two glasses of wine on a weekend perhaps, I'll earn it with a run (also with my husband) or a spin class. I also love cake. I don't know why, but I am obsessed with a good piece of cake with frosting. I have a piece for every birthday, and I count it. Knowing Memorial Day is Monday and someone will show up with unbelievably beautiful cupcakes, I will indulge and track/count that cupcake. Just be accountable, track your calories, and enjoy your indulgence. Daily, IMO.

I have two types of indulging. Daily indulgences - a square of dark chocolate, or a frozen smoothie bar or a small serving of salty popcorn. These happen every day, or every other day at the most. I have bigger indulgences, called treat days, every 10-14 days that I allow myself to eat whatever I want, across the board. Somedays I only go over my calorie ranges by a few hundred, sometimes totally smashed out of the water! I plan these days around social situations I know I will be in. When it comes to indulges - whether planned or not, it's important to track the food for accountability, learn to not make the same unplanned mistakes again, reflect to find out why we had an unplanned indulgence, and move on - don't beat yourself up! Track. Learn. Reflect. Move on.

Depends - I like to have something sweet everyday, but mostly it's just fruit. But about a couple of times a week, I'll indulge (too often over-indulge) in cookies and chocolate. I don't have a problem with "how often" rather is "how much" I eat at those times that I need to work on. A couple of cookies or a piece of chocolate is ok every now and then.

I usually let myself have one or two Hershey Kisses or other small chocolate after lunch and track it. I only have big desserts on holidays and special gatherings, but sometimes I fit in something special just because. I've had cake 3 days since Saturday and it all fit in my tracker. Just watch the sugar cravings and opt for fruit what you can. But don't deprive yourself.

How often do I indulge? On what???? I eat three meals a day, two snacks a day, a glass of wine a day. I try to make my meals very tasty so that each one seems like an indulgence to me. I just track what I eat and drink. Last Saturday I had cheese, crackers, pop corn, some chips, cut up veggies and dip, wine. This was going to be my before dinner snack at a get together at my house. I decided that with all that, I did not need a supper and so I didn't have one and my calories were fine. Not that I would recommend that way of eating, but at least I knew when to stop. I felt good about that.

I eat Tim Ferriss' Slow Carb Diet, which allows for a cheat day one day per week. No calorie counting, no holding back, I eat donuts, cakes, pizza, macaroni and cheese, beer, bread, white wine, hamburgers and whatever else I've been craving through the week. It works for me and I'm losing at a steady and normal pace. No dramatic weight loss, just normal 2 lbs per week. The first two weeks are hardest, then it gets easier.

My indulgence is on the weekends. I don't eat a lot of sweets or junk food but I do have some form of treat. I find that it helps me stay on my routine cause usually by the time the weekend gets here I don't have the craving so much.

I don't. While I no longer have weight loss goals I do want to maintain my loss and I have health goals. I no longer have any desire to go back to the foods I once considered treats and indulgences. I've experimented quite a bit in the kitchen and have found new treats that satisfy me and are in line with my goals. Win-win! The thing is those things I once enjoyed I now recognize as the poison they were for my body. I now have as much desire to eat junk as I do to drink bleach. It took me years of work to get there though.

I don't normally eat desserts - this isn't a 'diet' thing, I've just never really had the urge. However, my parents eat dessert every single night - and I go over for dinner about once a week. So, once a week, I have dessert - a piece of cake or pie or crumble or cookies or ice cream or pudding or whatever. I also have chocolate a few times a week - a square or a couple of small balls of dark chocolate (my favourite!). Finally, I indulge in a handful of salty, cruncy tortilla chips or flax seed corn chips or baked potato chips every couple of weeks or so during D&D. Those are my occasional indulgences, keep the cravings and any sense of 'deprivation' away, is a pattern I know I can keep doing forever...and so far I've lost 35 lbs, so they're not affecting my weight loss efforts!

I indulge at the weekend. I don't go crazy and eat literally whatever I want, but I certainly enjoy letting myself a relax a little about what I'm eating. I don't go way over my calorie allowance, but I don't worry about it if I do. I find allowing myself a treat at the weekend helps me to stay focused during the week. I also do a Zumba class on both Saturday and Sunday evening as well as doing lots of walking so I remind myself of that if I decide to have a scoop of ice cream or a meal out.
