This was the absolute best nutrition plan I have ever experienced. I have lost a total of 41 lbs in 3 months. The best aspect of the plan, was the eduction I received via the daily videos. I highly recommend this program; well worth the investment!!

I agree, trying to get enough protein in my diet is really hard. I like meat, eggs and etc., but I barely make my minimum quota each day. Seems like everything else would be out of whack if I up my protein 20 grams or more. Where do you get those protein bars called Promax, maybe they would help.
Sources of low fat protein are chicken, turkey and both without the skin. Jennie O has 99% Ground turkey which is ground with no skin and is 120 calories for 4 ounces....Turkey burgers, turkey chili, turkey mac, turkey meatballs, etc. Maybe try stuffed chicken with feta cheese and spinach...should be a receipe on the net.
Also Lean beef, pork ...anything with the word "loin" in it...like sirlion, pork loin, etc 3 ounces of Roast beef has around 28 grams of protein... 3 slices of deli roast beef would be around 150 calories.
Fish...sardines, tuna, salmon...Cannelli, kidney, and black Beans and Legumes such as split peas, lentils, refried beans (The Vegetarian one is good) and garbanzo beans ( Garbanzo and tomato salad with Olive oil and herbs. Lentils are load with soluble fiber...try lentils, matchstick carrots and a bouillion cube for a soup. Easy and good.
Nut and seeds...walnuts, almonds, pistacios, seasame seeds, poppy seeds, flaxseeds, Hazel nuts, pecans, Brazil nuts...Pumpkin seeds are especially high in protein,( Pepitas are already shelled and 1 ounce has about 8 grams of protein and they are low in calories and fat. Sunflower seeds have protein & almonds are particularly high in protein...and Chia seeds.
Egg whites have protein and so do eggs, low fat, low sugar yogurt like Fage 0% plain and add berries to sweeten, reduced fat cottage cheese (see the Daisy Brand) Skim milk, Parm and romano cheese also has protein.
Barley and oatmeal...Barley has soluble and insoluble fiber and has more fiber than oatmeal.Also quinoa and kasha which are extremely high in protein. Quinoa comes in as a small grain and they also have quinoa pasta. Just remember portion control.
Protein comes from two different sources which is plant based and animal based such as meat. So a variety of leafy greens like, Romaine, arugula, radischio, and other low carb veggies will help. An avocado with crab meat is good. Green Beans, Asparagus, tomatoes, etc.
Just some ideas to answer your question. This diet balances your blood sugar and is very similiar to a diet for diabetics. Also Walmart has canned goods under the "Great Value" brand name that are low in sugar and salt. Check them out to fit into this diet.
Low sugar fruits are Pears, peaches, plums, apples, kiwi, and all kinds of berries. Berries have the least sugar impact of any fruit. When having fruit pair it up with a protein like cheese, hummus, peanut butter. Again portion control.
The Ideal Protein diet is offered where I work. On the pro side, about 20 people at work have lost significant weight. On the minus side, all but one gained most of it back when the program ended. The one guy who didn't regain the weight is married to a registered dietician, so maybe she keeps him eating healthy.
I'm a little disappointed with some of the replies you received. I just started the Ideal Protein program under a week ago, and it's working really well. I have found that my first week was very much the same day to day, for breakfast and lunch, as I get used to what I can and can't have, and in what combination.
I have also been searching the web for meal ideas, and yes I've asked my 'Coach' and she's been very helpful with my questions. I'm trying to keep it very simple while learning the program and as I go, I'm sure I'll add a little flair.
I'd love to hear how you're doing on it and any little things you've picked up as well.
Hi Butterfly, I have been reading, researching, and educating myself on the diet. I am starting this diet within the next few days. There is a great team of people who are on this diet. Search the teams, and join in! There is lots of support and inspiration for the program.
My husband is on this diet due to his doctor's recommendation. It's somewhat a tough diet that is VERY expensive, but it really works. You buy their products which are made up of a very soluble protein. Their foods consist of crepes, cereal, omelets, drinks, smoothies, soups, bars, chips,puddings, etc. Except for the bars and chips, everything comes in a powder form which is mixed with water. You eat one Ideal protein pack at breakfast, one with lunch, and one before you go to bed. Along with the packs, you are allowed 6-8 oz of lean meat, and 2 cups of veggies for lunch and at dinner. The types of veggies are limited (green/red peppers, eggplant, asparagus, cucumbers, mushrooms, etc. There are a few veggies you are allowed to have only 2x a week (tomatoes, etc), and you are allowed unlimited lettuce. You can only have non-bleached sea salt (2 tsp a day) and you have to make sure you intake that amount every day. You are allowed 1 tbsp of olive oil every day, and again, you have to be sure to take that each day. There are three types of vitamins and supplements that also must be taken each day. And of course, 8+ cups of water daily. More is always better. The idea is that after 3 days on this diet (which is the worse) you put your body into ketosis. This basically resets your organs and allows then to begin working normally and it keeps your metabolism working 24/7. The weight and inches come off fast. It's a diet that is for anyone and is highly recommended to those that are experiencing health problems now. My husband had type 2 diabetes and for years (despite taken 4 meds for it) has never had normal glucose measures (very high). Within a week on this diet, his readings (while taking the meds still) have become normal. The goal is to lose the weight he needs and to get off his meds all together. It basically cures your diabetes. You can't eat anything in addition to this diet (low carb/no sugar products), but you are able to have any of the Walden Farms products. These are made up of salad dressings, sauces, jellys, mayo, etc. It's a product that has all 0's on their nutrition label and are allowed in moderation on this diet. There is also a cookbook you can buy at Ideal Protein that gives you some ideas of food preparation. This diet is hard the first 3-4 days, is VERY expensive, and some of the foods don't taste very good. It can also get boring, but it definitely works and if you follow it to a tee, the weight melts off fast. I know MANY people in my community that have been on this and they say they feel awesome!

If the diet requires a lower-carb no-sugar dinner, you might want to check out some of the low-carb teams here on Spark... a lot of the people on these teams eat low-carb regularly and have favorite recipes & websites that could help you.
I hesitate to give much help, as I don't know much about the diet and its requirements. So, I'll just give examples of my lower-carb meals: taco salad (seasoned beef or chicken, on lots of romaine lettuce, tomatoes, with salsa, sometimes cheese, etc) or broiled salmon with sauteed spinach. Once in a while, I'll make lasagna with thin slices of zucchini in place of the pasta.
I don't know anything about the "ideal protein diet" but I do know that I have been trying to eat more protein and it's hard! I have found that tuna from a can has a lot of protein, low calories, low fat, and low carbs. Chicken is also high in protein and low in carbs. Greek yogurt has protein but a lot of carbs. I have been eating these yummy protein bars called Promax. They are big and chocolately and have 20g of protein (but 37 carbs).

It doesn't sound like you have researched this diet, nor do you have an understanding of the components. So you may find that it is not the "eating plan" that is right for you.
maybe it would be best to start with a program that has a better plan.
Begin with Sparkpeople. You will get a range for calories, protein, fat and carbohydrates. If you need ideas for healthy meal plans that fall within these ranges, then make sure your SP meal plans is "turned on". If you need the steps to do any of this, please let me know.
Start weighing and measuring the foods and beverages you are eating and entering this in the nutrition tracker. You will quickly see how you are doing.

If you're following the 'Ideal Protein' program won't you be given what to eat? Or at the very least be given a list of food choices while on the program? It's done through a distributor isn't it? I would think part of the cost is the expertise of what to eat on the program?
I would check with them.

I am going to be doing the ideal protein diet very soon! I am unsure of foods i can and can't eat? Can someone help me with foods that have no/low sugar and carbs! I'm really unsure of what foods will be good for me :( Thanks for the help :)
