I floss, brush my teeth, and use Listerine within 5 minutes of being done with dinner. If I've taken the time to get my mouth super clean, I don't want to eat anything else! Also, having a fresh minty taste in your mouth would make any food taste yucky. If you feel like you want to eat after brushing/flossing/Listerine, drink water. It works!!

I am so surprised and impressed by all the people who say they don't eat after dinner! I am a big nighttime eater so my nighttime snack is very important to me! Sometimes my snack is bigger than my dinner! But as long as I stay within in my nutrition ranges it works for me. Of course my calorie range is probably higher than most people, because I have so much to lose. I also have diabetes, so having 4 smaller meals as opposed to 3 bigger ones + a snack, just seem to be the best for me.

I very seldom snack at night. We eat dinner around 6 or 6:30, so it's late enough where I don't get overly hungry. I exercise at night, too, and that helps, too. However, I know lots of people who are starved after a workout, I am not one of those people.

Drinking more herbal tea diluted with water. Also had a very satisfying dinner and don't think I will want anything else, maybe some almond milk before bed since it is only 7:30PM.

I find if I don't have a little something, like almond milk and even a few ginger snaps before bed, I eat in the middle of the night. If I pause during the middle of the night, I can curb my craving by deciding to have a glass of water.

I have lost weight and do not crave sweets much anymore. I did it by only having dark chocolate covered pretzels and expresso beans in the house. I don't like them much as they leave a bad taste in my mouth, so having them as the only sweet things, I think to myself, do I really want dark chocolate? Come to think of it, I also have triple gingersnaps in the house as well. I really don't want these much either. If I do have them, I only have a couple with almond milk. Almond milk is really a great thing to have. Forty calories for 8 oz. and it is so good.

I try to make sure that my dinner was satisfying enough in the first place.
Then I aim to keep myself busy, and enjoy "life" in the evenings, rather than going to bed early.
Loving these light evenings, my dog never says no to another walk!

I am going to try splitting my evening meal into two smaller meals and eat one a little later to see if that stops me snacking later on.

Another thing that helps me lately is eating a little later a night. Calories in are calories in, despite what others say about eating after a certain time at night. I find it I eat dinner around 7 I am less likely to eat later.

I save small milka chocolate for me (5 have 129 cals) so I eat 2 or 3after dinner.
It has been hard to wean off bad habits but Iam positive this will go eventually too.

I save chores for after dinner. I do laundry, wash floors, wash the bathroom, etc. I also will leave my workout for post-dinner if I know I don't have plans. That way the workout and shower fill most of the night and I am tired from it so sleeping is easy. Sometimes I will make a big pot of tea and do cross-stitch to keep my fingers busy (or paint or play piano, or anything creative).

I think eating after dinner is simply a habit.

Only once in a blue moon I eat something after dinner. Yesterday a bit of chocolate cause I was so low on calories, carbs and fat. I enjoyed it, but I would have been fine without as well.

My mum always eats her nuts after dinner. It seems vital for her.

I often exercise in the evening, so I save some calories for a snack. Otherwise I wake up at 4am starving.

Tuna and celery seems to work the best for me.

If I do not have exericse planned, I try and eat a later supper. (7-8pm) with a snack in the afternoon.

I find if I get the munchies, I try and do something physical to get rid of it, either exercise, yoga or housework. It usually happens if I dont eat a good enough lunch or if I am bored or premenstral.

I like my nighttime snack. So,I try to budget my calories so that by dinner time I make the low end of my daily calorie goal...that leaves me a little room for a small snack later and still be within my range. When I am at my max, I just drink water instead.

Making sure I get enough nutritional food throughout the day is key for me. I find it I don't eat enough protein and carbs earlier in the day, I will seek out foods at night.

I have to second those who say abstain from alcohol. I really enjoy the relaxing ritual of sipping wine in the evenings, but unfortunately it makes me very snackish...I forced myself to go back and look at my nutrition reports over the past few months, and I saw that most of my calories come in the evening with a glass or two of wine and the accompanying popcorn, chips, dips, etc...
I vowed that I would pull my craft stuff and tea out, or start a devotional...all much more enriching than sitting around watching TV while sipping a glass of vino. I'll just do that every once in a while ;)
