Mostly given up bread (except for sandwich thins) & pasta. I'll have it every once it a while, but not often since both are so calorie dense & I have a hard time controlling my portion sizes.

Pizza. A couple months ago, when I hit a milestone, I ordered a small pizza from my favourite restaurant. I ate one piece and the taste of salt and grease was a huge disappointment, and didn't feel like a treat at all. I threw the rest of it in the garbage. Never thought I'd see the day.

Junk food, especially sweets. I take healthy snacks with me so I won't be tempted--it's hard where I work--every day there are cinnamon buns, cakes, cookies, danish, etc.

I've completely given up really salty foods like canned soups, just-add-water type dinners, ramen, and frozen foods. I'd pretty much already given up fast food like Carls Jr, although I would go to places like Chipotle or Panera. I don't really go to those places anymore either. I did look up the sodium content of some foods at the places I did like to go to so this way, if I'm out and need food, I can get something and make a smart choice, but I just don't go very much. Other than that, I haven't really given anything else up. I'm not eating as much candy or as much bread or fried foods, but I can usually work those things in if I really want them.

Coffee and energy drinks. I stopped drinking them so I could drink more water. At first I had trouble because of caffeine withdrawal, but I started drinking tea 1-3 times a week, and now it's been 6 weeks since I've had coffee and 11 weeks since I've had an energy drink.

Most forms of white sugar and all red meat, eggs, and anything fried.
Give up everything you love, and everything that tastes good = weight loss! Simple as that! Meat, oddly. I did not intend to give it up. The healthier I eat, the less I want meat. It's so bizarre! However, it does help with our food bill, since beans are MUCH cheaper. I still do eat meat (had it for lunch, actually), but I find myself wanting things like lentils, beans, and dairy for protein instead.
I need all the support and motivation that I can get!

I just switched to vegan, so all meat, dairy products, and everything else that links back to animals. Before that, I had given up basically all grains and carbs...it's been a bit of a switch but so far I'm loving it!
I've also cut way back on beer. THAT was harder than meat!

There's nothing that I've given up entirely-- because any food can fit into a healthy diet as long as it's not all the time! But I've almost 100% given up fast food. It is just so addicting to me, I know that if I caved in and got Taco Bell or something, the next day I'd crave it again. So I have fast food maybe 1x a month, or less. It's just too dangerous of water to tread for me!

chewing gum, fast food, white breads, salt shaker, full milk and cream, soy products, oranges (GERD), vegetarian fake meat.. Too much lentils also make chaos with my stomach... Then again there is a reason to my success- phased stuff out now over a decade not 20 day craving claims.. When my stomach flares up I am watching for relapses- not just because it popular to be a is healthy right lemming....

Mostly given up: pop (I have some ginger ale every now and again), anything deep fried (though I'm good for a helping of fried pickles or hush puppies about once a year), nut butters (this is a cheat; I just don't like them), chips, ranch dressing (something I gave up years ago), Completely given up: pizza, which I didn't realize until recently. I hadn't had it in about six months and had a slice; from the first bite, all I could think was "this is disgusting!" I kept thinking it was going to get better, but it didn't. That was my last slice.

alchohol (not that i drank to a great extent - 4 - 6 coolers a month was about my rate) pretty much anything with processed starch - baked goods, etc. anything deep-fried milk (still do yoghurt and a bit of cheese) candy and other junk food most restaurant meals (my hubbie works at a restaurant so that's a hit to my budget - used to eat at least one meal a day for free)

I've cut out pop completely because of not only the amount of calories but the sugar in it. I've also cut out all sweets such as cookies, cake, ice cream, cupcakes, doughnuts, etc. Those are some of my favorite foods on earth and I know I cannot eat them in moderation very well and I am trying to get "off" sugar, so I've cut them out completely for awhile. It's hard but it's working :)

Refined sugar. It is not my friend. I feel so much better when I leave the stuff alone. Food cravings go away, more energy, joints feel good, thinking is clear, I could go on and on. I just leave it alone for the most part. Every once in a while I will have a bite of my husband's dessert in a restaurant, but we keep it out of the house. I never want to go back to those days of eating 1/2 gal. of ice cream while mindlessly watching tv. Gives me the creeps to think about it.

That "little" handful of potato chips. When I do have some, I am always astounded as to the impact on the chart of calories per food at the end of the day.

DIET COKE!!!!! I drank Diet Coke for years and years. Finally decided the beginning of 2012 to stop and haven't looked back. Couldn't decide what else to drink (don't like tea or coffee) so I've been guzzling tons of water. Happily I believe the water has helped a lot in the success of the weight I've lost so far:-)

Processed snack foods. If I want cupcakes, I make them from scratch. It totally negates making rash decisions based on cravings because it takes so long to get from being an idea to getting in my mouth.

Diet coke ! I gave up alcohol a few years ago and that was nothing compared to Diet Coke. Of course I didn't drink alcohol everyday. I see people with Diet Cokes and my brain just wants to knock them out and steal it !! It's rough, but it's been well over a year now !

It has been over 6 months since I gave up totally: - all junk food. - desserts. - soda. What is more, we still buy them for kids and my wife at home, but I don't eat them. Now, that was an achievement on my part. Previously I could easily abandon all these foods, but I would not buy them so that I would not have them at home; if I had them at home, I could probably not hold myself. Now, they are in the fridge, and elsewhere in the kitchen, but I don't eat them, even when hungry. I don't use my willpower either. I just changed the way I look at them: They are no longer edible to me.

Soda, chips, junk food. I've been doing Weight Watchers and my best weapon against food I don't need is to figure out the points value. Then I ask myself if I really want to waste x amount of points on something that has no nutritional value.

It's only been a week, but I've given up candy/desserts, chips, white foods (rice, bread, fried foods). Mostly: soda. I have a diet soda every now and again, but I'm trying to stick with just coffee (nectar from heaven) and water. I feel "cleaner" and not weighed down by junk. It feels like my systems are running smoother. Unfortunately, I'm not sleeping as well- so that sucks. Congratulations on your loss!!
