So, I have decided (after much soul searching) that I am going to go Vegan. Yesterday I read "Skinny B*+ch" by Rory Freedman and Kim Barnouin. WOW! What an eye opener?! I knew that overly processed foods were bad for you and all... but holy cow. Pardon the pun. I didn't realize just how bad 90% of the stuff that I eat on a regular basis really is for me. I mean, I am from the Deep South (Baton Rouge, Louisiana)... meat and deep fried everything is our way of life. So this is going to take a lot of hard work and discipline. But, as I keep telling myself lately, "I am worth it."
I am going to Whole Foods after work today to stock up on fresh vegetables and fruits, and granola (which I have fallen in LOVE with lately. I could seriously eat it for all three major meals of the day.) So, my question for everyone who actually reads this is...
Do you have any suggestions for good vegan dishes, vegan cookbooks, brands of food, informational websites... just anything that would make this transition a little easier? I greatly appreciate any and all input from my Sparkpeople Family!
The support you guys offer is second to none!
You Rock!
God Bless
