I don't light weights or anything, but I do body weight type exercises and yoga, stability ball and resistance bands.

I made a list of what exercises did today 4.16.2014;-) This has been built up over time. I am now in a great routine and love it. I started off by walking 5min on the treadmill and added to it. I have 55 lbs to lose so I need this attack plan. All the workouts are SP.

I make an electronic list then add it to my fitness tracker as I get it done.

100 min on treadmill

(2x) 7min SP Bootcamp - Day 3 Workout

(1x)15-Min SP Stability Ball Workout

(1x) 5-Minute butt blasting workout

I was kind of doing it before with body weight exercises from a video, but it didn't feel very challenging, so I don't know if it really counted.
today I got the weights I ordered and started using them and I definitely felt more of a workout.
so my answer is now YES.

Always 3x per week...usually 4x per week. Just started being consistent with this on Sept 15th and I have seen a big difference in my body. I'm FINALLY losing inches off my waist.

Prior to that I was just doing cardio and light activity.

Yes, I do one day upper body and one day lower body on my own. Then two days of a "Body by Design" class that is almost like cardio using barbells and free weights. It is TOUGH. No rest at all during sets (and super fast reps!) in the 60 minute class.

Yes and I enjoy the weight lifting so much that I actually get a good cardio workout due to the extreme pace of my workouts.

My friends are all fit. Three times a week, the 4 of us go to the gym, do an hour of cardio, and a half hour of strength. It's discouraging sometime to see them lift my body weight when I can only do 30 lbs. I am proud of one machine, as I can match the one who lifts most. I can leg press really well! That has kept me from giving up, and one day, I will be able to hold my own at them all!

Yes - It's not my favorite thing to do, but I know I should. I'm on a 13 week streak of strength training.

Hi PEERPUL,

I have been doing circuit training with friends from work. We do it twice a week in one of the conference rooms! LOL. We set up 6 stations with the following props:

1 - A chair for triceps dips/knee raises
2 - Swiss ball (crunches, squats, whatever)
3 - Mat (pushups or other mat exercise)
4 - Weights (3 lbs and 5lbs) any exercise that uses weights
5- Stepping stool / flex band (step ups, side steps, lunges)
6 - Nothing (jumping jacks, running in place)

We actually have a lot more exercise choices. We do two minutes at each station. We usually do 2 1/2 rounds.

Look up circuit training. You don't need many props and you can do it alone.

We all know cardio is the best way to lose weight and to get or stay healthy. But it is also proven that working on strength is just as important.

So do you and if you do, how do you do your strength training? I want to start doing it as part of my cardio but doing pushups on the side of the road is a bit hard to convince myself.
