After dinner & I clean up the kitchen - I brush my teeth, floss & use a mouth rinse by Crest. I will not eat anything after doing that. I have been successful with that.

I drink a glass of water or a cup of hot tea. If I'm still hungry, I'll grab a piece of fruit before bed.
Most of the time when your stomach tells you you're hungry, you're actually thirsty. Dehydration can play tricks on you!

If I've eaten well during the day I don't have any cravings later. I also keep busy with word puzzles, Sudoku, logic puzzles. And I love to play my piano. Keeps my fingers too busy to eat.

1 - I try to save any snacks from the day and have them ready and on hand so that when I feel like I need to eat something it is all ready planned and easy to grab. I know I am going to want to snack in the evening so I just plan ahead so that it fits into my program and I don't overeat.

2- If I am on my computer like I am now I try to make sure that I stand up and walk around or march in place for a few minutes every 30 minutes or so. If I am watching TV I try to walk around while watching a full program or at least walk in place while watching. It is a bit hard to eat and walk in place at the same time :0)

These are a couple of things that sometimes work for me but I am sure that many people have other suggestions.

I usually sitting in front of PC tracking on Spark. Drinking water and keep apart from food. I try not store food especially snack at home.

I use that as an opportunity to squeeze in more water for the day. ALL food is kept in the kitchen (including things like gum, candy, mints, etc.) and I avoid being in the kitchen as much as possible (except to fill up the water bottle ;) ). I use that time to practice piano, flute, or voice as well. As long as I'm focused on something that requires my full concentration, I don't even think to think about food.

Sometimes I'll just go to bed early, although my regular bedtime is 10pm so early sometimes seems really early. Knitting helps, and since I've joined SP I've found that just browsing the site helps keep me motivated.

I have supper between 7- 8 p.m. and lunch later in the day too. I have a 100 calorie snack later in the evening so I do not wake up in the middle of the night. If I am hungry I will wake up. I do not avoid eating and eat 1600 calories a day.

If I can, sleep.

However I'm a night owl and I keep waking up three hours after going to bed at a reasonable hour. It's aggravating. What I do to entertain myself: I knit, I write, I use my graphics tablet and doodle. I research things I want to know more about (don't like food near my computer). Anything to keep from being bored because I've learned that when I'm bored, I want to chow down.
