Hi all!! I find it helpful to have NO off limits food. Everything is fine in moderation. It takes the forbidden thrill away and I find I'm craving healthy fruits and veggies instead of the things I limit!

I have lead a sedentary life and am now working on repairing my weight gain but I know it will be a slow but steady process if I am true to myself and ask for help!

Thanks for being here for me too!

Sue

I am also just getting starting with all this... but I kinda came in with low expectations/low goals, even before I found out about the "fastbreak" stuff. I decided that I wasn't going to change my eating habits, or anything else, during the first week or two. I wanted to track what I was actually eating and see how bad off I really was. (My very first day of tracking, I had a Wendy's meal. A Baconator. Yikes!) But since I had already decided that I wasn't ON a wagon, I couldn't really say that I had fallen off of it :) This was a food choice I would have made anyway. The only difference was that I now had a better understanding of how bad it really was!

I'm just a few days in, but the discipline of knowing that I am tracking all of my food is already making me think twice before eating some things. I'm discovering that ignorance is not bliss, and just being more aware of things is a powerful motivator. Hang in there!

I'm glad that the first step of the Spark program is described as a way to ease into the program. I haven't been "sparking" for a week yet, and I already fell off the wagon, so to speak. Yesterday I had a Big Mac after I had already had lunch. Also, I didn't exercise, track my food or get on the community message boards. So today I'm jumping back on the wagon. I will be curious to see whether or not I lost weight my first week. I haven't been on the scales since Friday, so I have two more days to rectify my mistakes.
