Hello, I'm from Gustine, CA .... Going on my 3rd week and lost 10 pounds but gained 1 pound back. I know that I need to get back on track... So I'm letting Sparkpeople know I'm back this week... I have some big events like my son's graduation. Takening off to Ensenada Mexico to go get my in-laws. My husband will be starting a new job and will reply to the IRS audit. Today is a Hoilday and I'm on the right track and I just need to stay on it... Watch out because I'm back

I'm Sheila from Virginia and new to this team. I joined this team because of too much of my own ideas that just were not working -- not enough carbs or balance in my diet. I wasn't losing and had been on a very long plateau, so I'm going to follow the nutrition tracker and every other suggestion to the letter. I am 67 years young and so the exercise portion will take me some time to get up to speed, but I will get there. I am super determined to do this!

emoticon Hi from rainy New Brunswick, Canada! emoticon I also cannot use a "food planner" because I am a picky eater with poor habits. I love this site because I can record a library of the foods I do like! And because this site breaks down the nutrients of my recorded food, as well as what I eat, I am able to see how to choose for a healthier daily diet.

Hi I'm from the sunny Caribbean and I know what it's like with the nutrition tracker. I have spent a lot of time entering my own food and I draw primarily from that. If you don't like the suggested food you will not be successful on this journey you have to use what you like, know the nutrition content and work from there. It takes time to enter but it is worth it in the end. All the best to you.

Hello all, I am returning from hibernation, hoping this is the journey to my weight loss goals. I lost 18 pounds last year when I tried another weight loss program but now it is back. The reason I liked the other program was my ability to pick and chose foods I am accustomed to eating and the recipe builder section. I am hoping some of that is available here as it makes a big difference to my success. I am a nurse at an Adult Day Health Center (hoping to move to a part time job soon) 9:45-5:45 Monday through Friday. I do not get an actual lunch break so in the years I have been there I have gained 35 pounds. I am not surprised as your body does not even register food for 20 minutes, I am lucky to get an average of 12 minutes to "swallow" my food. I do have some "down" time in the afternoon to walk or exercise. I also like to do some exercise when I get up (after glass of water and stretching a little). These are my speed bumps so any and all comments or suggestions are appreciated...I must lose or face being sick,tired,sleepless in Iowa and depressed. I do not take prescriptive meds nor do I have any real health issues,Knock on Wood. I am 64 years young as of May 2013.
