Sometimes. When I have been doing laundry all day and lugging baskets of clothes up and down the basement steps, along w/ cleaning up after 3 kids constantly through out the day, I do, but only count it for 15-20 mins at the most.

added to Favorites.. Housework sure beats sitting on your can. Add a few squats and stretches while sweeping. Do a few curls with that full laundry basket. Add a few stairstep inclined pushups before you walk up a flight to kick the teens out of bed.

I started to count heavy tidying after I saw shared fitness trackers and blogs of people counting housework. I like to put on a motivational movie or audiobook to listen to and I keep stepping, even if it's in place. I only count it if things are in such disarray it's going to take a long time to reorder.

I certainly do! Why not? I am doing something that gets me off of my backside. I see instant results because of my efforts whereas working out there is the psychological instant results but not the physical.

The best weight-loss tool I bought for myself was a Fitbit One in February 2013. I have lost more weight, participated in a half marathon and it motivates me to stay busy. Fitbit has a website that syncs with Sparkpeople.com. Spark only logs "Fitbit calories" so (me being a stats girl) I go to Fitbit and caegorize my activities by the times I was active. I document what I was doing and how long I was doing it. Yes this sounds like a lot of work but it keeps me aware of what I've done and to ajust accordingly to continue getting results.

If "count" it means in my nutrition tracker, no. I accounted for that when I set up my fitness level and said that I was on my feet a lot of the day. But I do "count" it in the sense that as I do it, I try to remember that it's helping me reach my goals.

I would consider certain heavy indoor and outdoor chores exercise. Washing dishes, cleaning the toilets or something similar I wouldn't.
