If you dress your salad with oil and vinegar, you may get another fat-fighting benefit as some studies suggest vinegar may help the body break down fat....splash the salad with a little oil and vinegar to spread flavor without a lot of calories.
Try just a squeeze of lemon or add cottage cheese on the salad instead of the dressing to moisten.

One of my favorite "dressings" is avocado with lemon juice and some spices. I usually do use salt, but you can omit it.
Oil and vinegar, lemon or lime juice and oil, are good way to go. My mother-in-law will put raspberries in a blender with olive oil, lemon juice and a touch of balsamic vinegar for her salads.

I love, love, love salads but doc says to stick with low sodium dressings. Not so easy to do. Can anyone give me information about dressings I can purchase or good recipes for them. Thanks so much for your help with this one!
