Mixing ketchup and yellow mustard together create a taste very similar to Heinz 57. I dont know the ratio, but more ketchup than mustard....start small and just add a bit at a time tilyou get the taste you are looking for.

It might be that Heinz 57 and A1 sauce are tomato based and the acidity might hurt your mouth sores. I know they also have spices that can be harsh to a sensitive mouth.

All the recipes I have contain either ketchup, tomato paste, cayenne or chili powder.

How about something like a beef gravy ?? Not steak sauce but something to dip your steak into.

Is there anyone out there who has a recipe for something close to Heinz 57 sauce?. I know there are other steak sauces like A-1 but they burn the inside of my mouth because I have lupus and one of the problems with it are sores in my mouth.
