Thank you for the tip about recipes. I do have the Dukan Diet book as well so will start experimenting! I found the key to weight loss on this program is eating enough protein and drinking tons of liquids. Diet drinks and tea are acceptable as part of the water requirement. I started on April 19th at 187# and am down to 174.9 today! Very pleased!

I have been through this diet and lost quite a bit of weight. Just google "Dukan diet recipes" and you will get lots of recipes. There are quite a few sites.
Good luck.

I do agree that there is no need to count calories. I am on the crusing phase and I do not lose any more so cannot move on to the next phase. I don't feel hungry either and have sometimes to force myself. I think because the crusing phase is much longer than anticipated, my body is bored...

I don't count calories at all. In fact, it says in the diet plan that you don't have to count calories, just eat as much protein as you like. I wouldn't increase your food intake if you aren't hungry. Sometimes I have to remind myself to eat, because often times I'm not hungry either. It's important to keep eating protein though. I just finished the "attack phase" and lost 9.2 pounds. Added veggies today and my system is having a little trouble getting used to them! Good luck!!

Question? Is anyone checking their calorie count? I was curious how many calories I'm getting and was surprised to see it was just shy 800 calories and I'm not hungry. I log after each meal or snack. Should I increase my food intake? I'm finishing my 3rd day. I was on vacation last week and was afraid to get on the scale. Was at my Moms and started this the last day of my stay there. She had done the plan with good results. I had the book on my iPad and read it on and off but got serious on Friday after eating way to much on vacation.

"Finish each day
And be done with it.
You have done what you could.
Some blunders and
Absurdities have crept in.
Forget them as soon as you can." Ralph Waldo Emerson

Thank you so much for the Dukan Diet Food List. I'm on the 3rd day of the Attack Phase--2nd attempt. I did lose successfully, but didn't stick with the plan and have been on a plateau for a couple of months. The website for the food list is excellent and I will consult it carefully the next few days. Good luck to you too!

I'm starting the Dukan Diet again as well. My advice is to make sure that you plan your meals in advance and only keep foods that are on the approved food list around. Here's a good Dukan Diet food list www.dietreviewsdigest.com/dukan-diet/dukan
-diet-food-list/

Good luck!

I have read a lot of negative messages about Dukan Diet. I cannot disagree with any of them as they are personal. I can only go by my own experience which is a good one. Motivation is the key to anybody wanting to change their nutrition habits. Sparkpeople or not, Dukan or not, if we can't help binging on what is not healthy anyway, what is the point of trying all "diets" in the world? It starts with what is in our cupboard and what goes in our mouth. Non meat eaters have fabulous protein products such as pulses (lentils, beans, etc). I have learnt to like meats when I did get married. My weight may go down slowly because I eat a lot of yogurts (greek style with Splenda alternative sugar added to them). But I am not hungry, I eat well. I have a more sedate energy rather than a heratic one. The Dukan pancake is so filling in the morning. I have a smoked mackerel and a yogurt with that pancake and I am okay for the day. I must make sure I do not skip meals too much as I don't feel hungry. I am very glad I started that diet, and I would encourage those who want to go on it to decide whether they are serious about "dieting" or not before starting.

I finally started this diet. Bought the book again! This is day #5 on the attack phase. The scale has gone down 9 lbs. (which brings me back to my ticker weight). This is the least healthy diet I've ever tried, and I am not a big meat eater. I thought I could get away with the alternative sources of protien, but so very little variety made that impossible for me. That said, I have lost 9 lbs. the first four days, and the diet is designed to show a giant loss to motivate you to stay on the plan. This morning after weighing, I am most certainly motivated to continue to follow this plan. I get to add veggies in a day or two, and I am so looking forward to that! I feel as though I'm learning a new and different way to eat. I cooked a big turkey on Sunday, and it's been turkey and tofu for four days now! The Dukan galette is good and surprisingly filling. I put a thin slice of deli ham on it and an over-easy egg for a yummy breakfast.

I started dukan diet on 31/12/12 and from 56 kg I am not 50.7. I want to come down to 45. I have the extra help from www.dukanaute.com for new recipes. Unfortunately it is in French. BUT for those who know basic French they should be able to decipher the recipes easily. They are good, and I have been able to diversify my food intake which makes the diet more pallatable if that was needed. the pure protein days are fine, but the protein-vegetables are my plateau days where I don't move an ounce down, sometimes I do the other way. But I want to succeed as there is my beloved nephew's wedding in September and I want to get in a dress I have not been able to wear for too long (12 years). Keep sharing with others your experience, it is helpful to find that you are not alone in it. emoticon. I also walk on a treadmill (unexpensive motorised one) 20mn after each meal, which makes me walk for one hour each day.

I buy the Quaker Oats oat bran. It's in the cereal section of the grocery store. Also have purchased oat bran from a health food store.
I started the Dukan diet on Dec. 1st; stayed on the Attack phase for 7 days until I couldn't look at another piece of protein!! I lost 20 pounds in the first 6 weeks, but have been at a plateau since then. It's still hard to have the protein only days, but adding veggies helps tremendously to avoid monotony. I am missing fruit and not due to start adding that as well as cheese and bread until Easter! This diet is not the healthiest I've been on, but the most effective so far.

Hi, i have started Dukan method about 5 days ago. Seems to work fine for me. I did try to loose weight before with sparkpeople, but i found it hard to find products to keep my protein in balance with the rest. i managed to keep 12 kilos off by exercising. But i cannot do sport for a year now and i have got my weight back. That's why i fell for Dukan's. So far i am on my 4-th day and i make my chicken breasts interesting making a new "sause" every time, which i choose from the book. Also i have a 150 gr of fish every evening that is always cooked differently, but without fat. This keeps me going. Drinks come in handy and ease my sweet tooth. And, finally, yes! i eat smaller portions.
Never seen carb free noodles around my place. I should try it once i find some.
Take care and good luck!

Hey! I am also starting back again today  How much are you aiming to lose altogether? This morning I had a boiled egg and my Oat bran and this afternoon for lunch I have had 6 prawns and a slice of ham with some Quark. What do you do with your fish and chicken to keep it interesting? Are you finding yourself eating much smaller portions? Have you tried the carb free noodles/pasta? They are quite expensive but I highly recommend them. I’d love to keep in touch and find out how you’re getting on. Good Luck!! x

I have done the Dukan Diet before and am starting it again today. I was over a year ago when I did it the first time. I love it and found it very easy to follow. I do phase one (pure protein) just for about 2-4 days. It is amazing how much better I feel and the weight drops within 2 days. Then I alternated days between pure protein and protein and veggie. I lost 10 pounds pretty quick and maintained it. However, over the holidays I gained it back from traveling and not working out and eating right, so I am starting again today. This morning I had ham and egg whites. For lunch probably chicken bites from Schwann's. Dinner will probably be fish or chicken again. Lots of water and the protein fills me up! Good Luck!

And here I am two months later and still 'considering' the dukan diet. I even bought the book (though never opened it) and an expensive pound of oat bran, both of which I've given away. I am heavier and less active than even 2 months ago. I keep checking in every day, though. I don't know.

I just started today on the Dukan Diet. I have been contemplating the start of this eating plan for awhile because my Friend and her husband have done very well on it for almost a year now. I'm very impressed with their weight loss. My problem is my busy lifestyle and the easy way out to just eat on the go, also to be accountable for my actions if I do mess up. Good luck on your journey, hope to hear from you and how your new adventure is going! Good luck!

Today is my first day of the Dukan Diet. Is there some sort of support group? Not that it has been so amazingly difficult the first day that I need support yet...I just haven't seen much discussion about this diet/lifestyle change.

Thanks...

It's so hard not to cheat on the first couple of days. I'm on day 4 now...it's not as bad as how it was at the beginning... My friend was on it and lost 20lbs... I'm just hoping to be able to combine it with Spark plan since it's important to do a change of life style instead of always going back and forth between so many diets.

I was not aware of this diet, and just looked it up... altho it is high protein, it is very low fat, therefore you would have to bake, roast or fry in broth to keep the fats down. the web site is full of ideas.... I just made eggplant yesterday, but had to use fat, I'm going to try it his way... clever ideas to use when one feels like they just must eat, very interesting...
