This is an old thread, but I am due in December and just starting my 3rd trimester. Looking back I gained 6 pounds in the 1st trimester & 22 pounds in the 2nd trimester. This boy likes to eat! I'm looking at a total 40 pound gain at the least I imagine. I think I passed the glucose test so that is good. I feel pretty awesome... only mild infrequent daily complaints to my husband. ;) I just hope for a healthy baby... under 9 pounds!! 7 sounds ideal lol. I'm just going to continue eating as I have these last weeks (always striving for improvements of course) and hope the weight gain is all for baby's growth and development.
I am using Leslie Sansone's Walk video to keep my energy up and weight in check. It is very low impact and you can easily modify the moves for your level. I bought it at Walmart. I was in average shape before pregnancy so my doctor said it would be fine to continue with mild, low impact aerobics. I am at 13 weeks now and have gained four pounds. I am also tracking my nutrition on Sparkpeople and am trying not to go over 2150 calories a day. Although, I am also listening to my body and am not depriving myself!

I'm fifteen weeks along with my first, and have just gotten my energy (somewhat) back, but I haven't stepped up the working out. And I'm definitely eating a lot (well, I'm eating often and it definitely amounts to more than my usual).
Hopefully all of you that are in the first tri are able to do something--I was walking my dog daily but I skipped the gym entirely. I'm trying to get back to going.
I'm going to add you guys--feel free to do the same!
Hello Everyone! I too just found out I am having a baby (#4 for me!) and I was looking for some support. I was hoping that there was a spark coach program or something that would help me to not get too out of hand with my weight gain... My oldest I gained over 70lbs, and my middle child was close to the same. My 3rd baby I found myself single for and so was on a horrible path of not eating much and so I didnt gain too much, but I know that can be very unhealthy as well. So far all I have found was babyfit and after one week into it Im not having any fun. I liked waking up every morning and watching my program video, and tracking my food and excercise to meet the goals set for me... wish there was something I can find that would work the same way as spark coach! My last pregnancy was kind of a rough one, and I have had two miscarriages since, so Im a little scared to do any excercise, and of course I am already feeling too exhausted to even walk the dog. Hopefully Ill remember to ask the dr what all I will be able to do this time around, next time I see him.
I would love to keep in touch with those who are going this journey as well. Please feel free to add me as a friend... I would love someone else to chat with, and Im sure others would too! If you are a first time mama, I know what that feels like! If you are a mama with one on the way and looking at divorce, I know how that feels too! If you are a single mama and have found yourself pregnant and aren't dating the father, I know how that feels! If you have 3 children and are in a wonderful relationship (FINALLY) with someone who truly loves you, and you are having your first child together... I have no clue but Id love to go through it with someone! Come talk to me :)

Hi there :) I'm nearly 27 weeks pregnant and I definitely feel your pain! I tried the babyfit site but the community there is suprisingly quiet. I really struggle with weight gain at the moment, this is my second bub and I ended up at 105kg after he was born. Not the heaviest I've ever been but certainly in the obese category.
This time I'm a lot more controlled about what I eat and try to get good nutrition in during the day as I can't exercise much (my hips went bad early on this time) but if I'm honest sometimes it's actually difficult to eat enough simply because I don't have the stomach space anymore!
It doesn't matter how many times you fall so long as you keep getting back up.
Hey everyone! I just found out I am pregnant too, I am about 6-7 weeks along and I am soo scared! This is baby number 3 for me (but 4th pregnancy). With my oldest Riley, I only gained 14 LBS and lost it right away and with Emily I only gained 12 LBS and I never lost it and in fact I gained 30LBS after having her...probably from stress because she was a preemie and I was eating out constantly going from home to NICU. Then a few months back I was ready to lose weight again and I lost 40 lbs and then I found out I was pregnant and I completely stopped working out and i vegged on the couch all day eating junk. I gained back everything in a VERY short time! Unfortunalty I ended up losing the baby at 16 weeks for complications that were out of my control . Anyway I didn't want to get pregnant again and go through that again, but it happened anyway...so now I am here scared out of my mind that I will gain to much and end up being worse than I have ever been! I really hope that I can steadily lose, while gaining baby and just stay the same?!?!? Then after baby, I can go crazy working out again. Anyway I would love the support if you want to friend me too!!

Hi! Sounds like we are in the same boat! I'm 9 weeks pregnant with my first child...trying not to get completely out of control with the weight gain. I'm up 3 or so pounds so far. Have been able to run a few times a week around the neighborhood but not nearly as much as I used to.
Would love to keep in touch! I am definitely nervous about letting "take it easy" become "eat a lot and be super lazy."
Congratulations and take care!

I don't really have any advice other than good luck! Might want to check out Sparkpeople's sister site babyfit.com. The food database is weak and there isn't much activity on the boards, but it's great motivation for a healthy pregnancy.
I'm 11 weeks preggo with my second and am finding it a bit harder to keep my weight in check this pregnancy. With my last I was going to the gym 5-6 days a week (lighter than normal of course) and eating SO healthy. I gained a perfect 28 pounds and lost it all by 4 months post partum with almost no effort. It's been much harder this time and with a 16 month old at home, I'm only getting to the gym 3-4 days a week. I've already gained 5 pounds! Looking for some friends to stay motivated for baby and myself to eat healthy and exercise. Friend me if you want to help keep tabs on each other!
