Family Ties: An Often Humorous Look At Parenting

I often tell my 7 children that "this is not a barn". Sometimes it seems like the circus rolled in and sometimes I scream but most often I laugh and join in the craziness. We homeschool and there is plenty of sit and be still going on. I also like to let them be kids and know that it will all pass too quickly.

I have the utmost respect for my Mum! Now that I am a mom too I can see why Mum called us "little apes". I bet through her eyes we looked like a bunch of crazed chimps running around tearing up the house and screaming at each other. I apologize Mum. I always used to think that she was overreacting.....Now I fully understand why my Mum often told us she was going to put us in the zoo with our cousins. I think she was referring to the monkey house LOL.

Sometimes I feel like I live at the monkey house with four "little apes" and one big daddy ape running around but you know I wouldn't change anything! Sometimes chaos reigns but it sure makes for an interesting day LOL!!!
