Paula, I am so sorry about the loss of your job. I will be praying for you that God blesses you with something better and quickly. I do think you should qualify for unemployment since they let you go. It will just be based on what your average pay is. At least that is how it is here in Kansas.

Faylei, wow no wonder you are overwhelmed. (((Hugs))) I agree that FarmVille kind of takes you away from it all. My problem is that I have so much Real work to do that I feel quilty if I do get onto those places.

GGB, Mmmm Krispy Creams!!! Have not had one of those in over a year. I also love the rasberry filled. Hope you get to feeling better soon. Enjoy Barbara's birthday and you two be sure to stay out of trouble and be wery, wery quiet. LOL

GAli, Oh I sure wish I could join you Friday. I have never had a massage or pedicure and only 1 manicure in my life. So you must be closing down shop for the day. I have never heard of a boss doing that. You are one lucky bunch of ladies.

Stacey, I was going to also suggest you get another opinion but you know your car better than we do. I will pray things start coming together for you soon. Just remember how God graciously worked things out for you from July to December and He will do it again.

Dominique, I bet it would be a great work out with Snow Shoes. Never had them or skis on in my life but I bet the weight picking them up would use some unused muscles. Enjoy your day at home with dd.

Paula--So sorry about the job! I will pray that something else comes up fast.

Faylei--Hugs! You are entitiled to feel overwhelmed once in a while. Hang in there. It will get better.

Crafty--I agree that finances are incredibly stressful. I'm determined to conquer it this year as well, but it seems every time I turn around, something else happens to make it worse.

Dominique--Praying for Aida and family. Good job on the snowshoeing. Sounds fun, but not a good sport for Austin. LOL!

GGB--Take care of yourself. I wish I could eat Krispy Kreme and Snickers and lose weight! But, I'm sure you would rather have a healthy colon than be able to eat like you do. Have fun at Barbara's!

Barbara--I'm sure you will enjoy GGB and GGE. You don't have to baby proof for them! It is a little odd to be out of the that phase. Every stage has it's blessings and challenges.

I appreciate the advice on the van. But, the check engine light has been on for two months. The shop in St. Louis told me it was safe enough to drive, but probably wouldn't pass an inspection. So, I went into the inspection knowing it probably wouldn't pass but hoped it would be an easy fix. No such luck. I could take it somewhere else, but would have to pay another diagnostic fee and would probably be told the same thing. It's just not worth continuing to put money into that thing!

Faylei- we are in the same boat. I have not been as energetic lately and I think it is all the stress of finances. It just bugs me to no end with the finances. I stress when the phone rings wondering if it is the bill collectors. I am determined this will be the year to get it all straightened out.I'm still paying medical bills,credit card bills, not to mention how are going to pay for college for dd. Praying she gets scholarships. We will be looking into that soon.

We made chocolate playdough today and the kids loved it. They played with it for 30 minutes.

Well, better go get dinner started. Dd has to stay after school for 45 minutes to sort home coming shirts so won't be home until after that but ds has rugby practice so need it ready for him to eat when we do get home. Another sloppy,cold practice.

Sorry I'm not getting in here alot. It's just crazy around here and yes, I do seem to be getting lost in farmville during my free time lately. I think maybe i'm trying to go through a bit of a depression and fighting it every step of the way right now to stay out of it. I've never been depressed so not sure that's it at all...just a bit gloom lately and tears flow easily where normally you'd never see a tear from me. I hold a pretty good strong front. Poor dh got to see a total collapse the other night:( Just a lot going on with daycare, teaching preschoolers and toddlers, add homeschool, being a daughter to lately sick parents, baby bentlea, finances, it's tax time, college needs them NOW, two stressed dd's right now, and a hubby with gout, a potty training 2 yr. old with a mom who is not patient with waiting til it happens, 2 daycare kids will be leaving come June, 1 more leaves when kindergarten starts, oh and I am getting 2 newborns anytime now...EEEKKKK (yes, I am buying a baby sling to wear a baby at all times!)!!!! ......have I mentioned I LOVE FARMVILLE!!! It's so peaceful and quiet there. It's spring and the trees and flowers are blooming, the animals DON"T POOP, I have tons of money, and my neighbors send me presents.



Paula- I am soooo sorry about the job. We will all be praying that this is God opening a new window. He has a plan for you...may it be revealed to you quickly.


Barbara- Can't wait to hear what your new adventure is in writing!!! Waiting, waiting...thump thump thump...waiting waiting........thump thump thump....waiting waiting waiting......... Are ya ready to share yet??

Good afternoon!Hubby is home and I just could not get on here any earlier. I seem to be always running behind lately. Part of it is all the company and part of it is my husband getting no overtime. When he is home I don't get up and do my internet work at 5:30 like I do the days he works. By the time breakfast is over, school starts and I am just too busy till lunch.

Dominique-I have been writing, but just over the last few days I got a revelation. I have been kind of stymied. Now I know why and am going to actually begin a different project. I will still finish the other, but this book needs to be first. I knew I was missing something because the writing was feeling like work- which writing never is for me.

I think I am coming into a different place in my life. I am really seeing that. I am changing and finding the new me. The Barbara that has hands full of nursing babies and diapers and preschoolers is no longer needed. She did her job and loved it, but now it is time to move forward. I did not know just how much I had changed until this last visit with my son. My house is NOT baby proof any more- though I would have said it is. I had not noticed the subtle changes the last few years have made. His daughter was COVERED with marker several times. We thought we put them up after the first time she got them. Well, it seems we have markers in every room! My kids all do lots of art and they have their supplies in bedrooms and the kitchen both. Several things were like that. We leave knives out on the counter waiting for them to be washed. We have playdough on open shelves. We have computers in all the bedrooms. On and on it went.

I have TIME for me now, and I think I need to start using it more! :)

Well, I was just told that I am no longer needed here on my job. Please pray for us, I don't know what I will do right now. We have so many bills and where I am just PRN she said she didn't know if I could draw unemployment or not? I'll have to check into that. I need to talk to hubby and let him know. She said I could work to 2:30 today if I wanted to and clean out my drawers. I am just praying that God will lead me where he wants me to go and give me the grace to get there.

Barbara - more company on the way.lol
GGE and GGB will be knocking on the door come Monday. No way you can have that "big" birthday without us. We will be quiet. You can give GGE a book and he behaves for hours. I just need my snacks and I am happy. Lost 2 lbs this week.
GGE bought me a box of Krispy Creme doughnuts and another box of 48 snickers. Might hold me for a few days. lol
Ladies. - I read the posts . Not sure I have the energy to respond to all. My heart beat is too slow and it makes me tired. Saw doc yesterday and he changed my medicines. I also have cellulitis on my tummy again. Arggg More antibiotics which cause me lots of problems. Doc said we have to protect what little colon I have left. Eating yogurt to try to keep damage to a minimum.
Dominique - Hugs to your friends. Prayer for all. I know that is a hard call. Life is much too short. This home is too temporary. Seems to be just a short stop over.

Have dinner mostly ready to heat and eat and I am tired.

Dominique: You're doing great! I've never snowshoed, but is sounds fun and like hard work. LOL. I'll be praying for Aida Iris during this time.

I'm at work today a little slow, pray that we'll get more work. Our numbers were really slow last month and not getting much better for Feb. There is only 5 of us here and they're looking to lay someone off, rumor has it. I'm just trusting that God will guide and provide.

Did you know that walking for one hour (5.63km) burns 300 calories but SNOWSHOEING for 45 minutes burns 418? I just did 45 minutes of snowshoeing this morning...lovely in the the snow...but hard when you are alone trailblazing- once the trail is open it's much easier...I'm all sweaty but feeling good.

Good morning!

Well not much happening out here. Weather is relatively nice. Had about 4 inches of snow over the week-end, temperatures are nice not warm warm but not cold cold either!

Barbara have you started on that second book? How is it coming along?

I'm home today...helping dd with her school work and doing mostly laundry and house cleaning.

By the way I have 760 raise towards my $1000 goal...I'm pretty happy about that. I still have some to raise but it will come!

Have you all noticed that the farmville people seem to come for very brief visits here now? (or at least that's what it seems LOL maybe they're just busy with life!)- On the bright side they seem to really enjoy it (looking at the comments on facebook!)

Julie- We did not get anything until about 7 last night.The system stayed more south of us after it left Memphis. But last night we had a good snow falling for about an hour and it ended up being about 1/2 inch then the rain started and now it is just rain and most of the snow is gone If it would have stayed snow we could have about 5-6 inches on the ground right now. It is suppose to change back to snow today.So I will need to keep checking in case they close schools early.

Stacey- take it to another place. They might be trying to take advantage of you since you are from out of town and a woman.

Gali- sounds like a lot of fun planned for Friday.Wish I could join you.

Stacey - I agree with Faylei. We go to the same small place we have always gone and they are always helpful to getting the car inspected without charging extra fees. And we have had some hum dingers of cars in the past. I did need to get new tires on my car last week for the inspection, but we already knew it was time for that.

For Valentine's Day, I bought tickets to the local community theater to see Cyrano de Bergerac. We tried to watch it on Netflix and fell asleep, but am hoping live theater will keep us awake. One of DHs side business is to write poetry for special events when people send him the basic info (with the idea of Cyrano writing for a lover). It will be his birthday and Valentine present as his birthday is the 23rd. It's a surprise although he knows not to plan something for the afternoon of the 14th. The food concession is offering a free glass of champagne to anyone who comes early.

Our spa day for the office is finally here this Friday. I plan to decorate it up for Valentines with balloons, flowers, and valentine candy. It will be at the doctor's house and all the providers (massage, pedicure, manicure,facial, hair stylist) will come there and set up. We will also have goodies for a local European bakery and mimosas in the morning and fajitas for lunch. I'm going to make a red velvet cake in a heart shape and one of the girls offered to make chocolate covered strawberries. Some of the girls are going to see the new Valentine movie that is coming out this week, but a few of us will go home to see our DHs that night.

stacey= take the vehicle to another inspector. Small type family style gas station. Especially one that does NOT work on vehicles so has nothing to gain. We have taken ours to one place and they said one thing and wouldn't inspect it so took it to another and they passed it with no problem. Just a thought:) Been there done that. Hugs

Heidi - how much snow did you get? We got about 8 inches so far. It is still falling here and there. I am so glad that we got this because Joshua had such a wonderful day in it!

When it rains, it pours. I took the van to get inspected. It didn't pass and will cost over $3000(!!!) to fix what is wrong so it could pass. That is way more than the van is worth. I don't see any alternative but to get a new vehicle. I just don't know how. The last thing we need is more expense right now.

So glad GGE has joined us on the Farm. Any of you farmers that have nails I need 6 of them to build my stable. Barbara can you check with your kids I think one of them had sent me a nail. I know we each only have 2 items to gift and I am 1 harness and 6 nails short.

Barbara, that seems so strange for you to say you have peace and quiet in a houseful of 11 but I imagine you are in such a great routine that everything does run like clock work. Glad the little ones had such a good time. How is Kortney doing? I hope she is doing better. Also you have not mentioned your dog lately (I think Corndog) who was wounded a couple months a go. How is he doing?

Stacey, prayers to you dear. You are almost always upbeat. So glad you can let your frustrations out with us. One good thing about Texas is that you won't have to pay State Income tax for this year. Just found out the graduation ceremonies are May 21 at night & 22nd afternoon. If we get good ticket prices we will probably come in the morning of the 21 and leave Sunday 23. I'll let you know as we get closer to the time and see if we will have any time to spare.

I agree with the Global Warming????? This is the coldest, snowiest winter in Kansas in at least 20 years. Usually we have a few days of 60's in Jan and I think the highest it has gotten since Nov is in the low 40's. Will be so glad for Spring to come.

We will have the grandsons on Saturday night and plan to take them to Red Robin (because we have a gift card) Then on Valentines Day dh and will probably go to dinner in the late afternoon. We usually don't buy each other anything except a card

Stacey- we usually do a family dinner at home with the kids.They enjoy it. This year dd may not be here. Her small group may be going to Atlanta to see Luis Gigilo.Will have to see about the weather for the weekend before I decide if she will go. She also has a lock in at church that night.

Julie- What is up with the snow????? I woke up to see Memphis was getting 4-6 inches. We haven't see a flake yet. It has stayed more south but we are suppose to get some tonight and tomorrow. My aunt called and said they were shutting schools down early in Chattanooga and south where she lives.

Hi, Ladies!

I'm not sure what we are doing for Valentine's Day yet. I had visions of buying a little red dress to celebrate being at my goal weight and going out for a nice date night. But, I got a later and slower start on the diet this time, so I'm not at my goal weight yet and there is no money for a little red dress or a date night. Sigh! We will probably just have a family night at home. I will get DH some chocolate and maybe order heart shaped pizzas from Papa Murpheys.

I'm still trying to jump through all the hoops for this job. I really need to start working cause we are SO broke! And even the hoops are costing money. I have to have a Texas driver's license so that costs...and to get the license I have to get the car inspected and registered in Texas, which costs money. And then to top it off, DH got a speeding ticket last night! ARGGH! All this financial mess just about has me in tears and my stomach in knots!

Sorry, ladies. I just feel like I'm under a cloud today.

We are actually hosting a big Mardi Gras party so our valentines money will go to that this weekend. I bought tons of purple, gold and green decor at the dollar store and oriental trading post as well as tons of beads, masks and hats. I will be learning to play poker it seems and someone else is bringing a roulette or craps table or something like that. We're all donating lots of like new gifts and unused Christmas re-gifts to the prize stash for prizes. Should be lots of fun!! Dh and I did go out this weekend to eat and to a movie. We saw The Book of Eli. It was a great movie!!! Love spending time with my sweetie!!! Guess I will also send him a heart shaped haybale too on farmville!!!!!LOL!!! I think that's what he's buying me too!!

Good morning! My company just left. We had a fun night last night. They wanted to watch the Superbowl. We are not football fans but enjoyed watching them watch it. LOL! They bought snacks and it was fun. I was cheering for the wrong team I guess. I picked them cuz I like horses! HAHA!

Well Farmville fans...we got another one. GGE has joined the ranks- so accept him as a neighbor! LOL!!

They are calling for snow here again wed. Global warming?? feels like another iceage here!!!

Morning All!! Had a great weekend with my parents. My son took 3rd place in is den with his Pinewood Derby car. So proud of him and his dad. They did a great job on the car.

Getting snowed in in Rochester MN. Waiting to hear that school is cancelled, but nothing yet.

Update on baby Tyler: They gave him fluids with an iv because he was dehydrated and gave him antibiotics and sent him home. It is more scary for him because of the heart surgery he had right after he was born. Don't know why he was turning blue.

My back is feeling a little better but today I will have the little ones and 2 are babies. I will only have to pick them up when I put them in the chair to eat and in their beds. One is only here until 11:30 so that will help.

I am so glad the Saints won. They needed that and it will bring a big boost for the city.Do you think they are still partying???? Ds went to his small group leaders house to watch it and the rest of us went to a friends house to watch it. By the time we got home from that and picking ds up it was 9:40. Late night for everyone here.

I'm not a big football fan either. Hubby is watching and letting me know how things are going. We don't really have a preference but since the Saints have never won a SuperBowl I would probably go with the underdogs. Sounds like it is a close well matched game. (I like basketball much better)

Crafty, prayers for the baby and family. I need to get around to ordering from you one of these days. I always think about it and then forget. I still don't have our house totally organized from the move and now I am busy into tax season so organizing will wait until at least April.

I'm glad I enjoyed the nice weather while it lasted. It's chilly and overcast today again. It's been cold and rainy all week and is supposed to be that way this week too. Yesterday was a nice reprieve!

I better go check back in with my men. They are all watching the Super Bowl and munching on the goodies I laid out.

Crafty - so sorry you hurt your back. Hope the heating pad and rest are all you need. Will pray for that baby and his family.

My runny nose has dried up, but while we were in Sams my ear started hurting. Pray that I do not have an ear infection.

My girls loved the dish cloths and scrubbies that Crafty made for me. I've been using mine ever since it arrived in the mail. She used some kind of special yarn on the scrubby and it works as well as or better than any scrubby I have ever used. She made them all for me in red for Valentines and I love that touch of red in my kitchen.

Please pray for a family at church. They have taken their baby to Vanderbilt. He was turning blue and they don't know why. He had heart surgery right after birth. he is about 9 months old now. he has an ear infection that he is battling right now.This family is struggling with some serious financial issues also so this just adds to their stress.

Barbara, so glad you have power again. No water or electricity for over a day would not be fun for anyone but especially a house full like yours. The ds who is visiting I am assuming is the one who was laid off a couple weeks ago. Is he looking for work in your area? Praying a job comes soon. Wish I had someone to back me up on my Farm and Cafe. Too bad we can't help our neighbors more. GGB must have to sign in as you in order to help you. I know you helped her when she was on vacation.

Julie, is dh pain in his abdomen still there or is the incision still hurting too much to tell. I just hope his doctors get him feeling better soon. How is your knee doing? Praying for all of you. Your trip to see grandbaby is coming up soon!!!

Dominique, isn't is a small world in which we live. Glad to pray for your new friend's mother. Your walking for Cancer is reaching out to the world.

Faylei, glad you are home and will continue to pray for Bentlea's family. I just loved the picture book of her on FB. I feel like I really knew this baby girl. Their memories will live forever. We also are expected to get frezzing rain and snow tonight and tomorrow with temps to be below 10 F. Getting tired of it.

Stacey, what a neat place you found and so close too. I'm sure you will find many more fun things to do this summer. I may be flying to Austin with my mother in May for my nephew's graduation from UT. I'll let you know. We may not have a car but it would be so neat to connect with you.

I got power!!! Good thing too, I was getting the shakes...missing Farmville! HAHAHAHA!!! GGB saved my crops though, so all is well!!!

It has been interesting here with company and no power. I had drawn up water to drink, so that part was not a problem. I could not fill the tub though to use to flush toilets because I was afraid the 2 year old might get in there and drown. So had to melt snow to flush toilets- which is time consuming and takes propane.

The bigger problem was the 3 year old was FURIOUS there was no TV. Sigh. I think Grandma is no longer on his list of great people.

The vegetarian thing has gotten to the point of irritating too. Come on, if you eat meat fine but 3X a day or you die???

Overall it has been fun though. :) I keep telling myself that... LOL!!

Good Sunday morning.

Stacey- yeah,yeah,yeah about the warm weather!!!LOL Ours is coming.........sometime. No rain or snow today.Rain comes back tomorrow night then changing to a mix on Tuesday. This is as much rain/snow we have had in one winter since I have lived here. I'm ready for the sun to come out.

Julie- glad Lynn is getting better. I think as women we worry more about that stuff then men do.

Gali- sounds like you had fun yesterday.

Faylei- glad you are home safe. Will say prayers for the family.

My back is bothering me. I think I twisted wrong when I was drying my hair yesterday.So I am staying hoem this morning. Been on the heating pad alot. Dh had the stomach bug yesterday and the kids worked the basketball game clocks yesterday. So they made some money while dh and I lounged around the house. If he would have felt well we could have gone to breakfast when we dropped the kids off but we came home instead and watched the Food Network until it was time to pick them up.

The doctors are not saying this is what is causing the stomach problem. Lynn looked up the liver and found out that the abdominal pains are one side effect of an overworked liver. I don't know that they would have tested that anyway. The liver is on the opposite side of the where the pain is located.

So who knows?! I guess we will find out with time. I just hope they get his liver function back to normal.

I better scoot. Got to get Adam and me ready for church.

I'm not a nurse, but blood tests are so specialized that they probably did not do the specific one he just had when testing for surgery. Maybe they should have, but didn't!

Good Morning!

I love Real Age. I get a weekly email from them. One of the doctors in Dr. Oz who is on TV, but I don't watch TV. Their email is always interesting. I haven't done the test in a long time. I use to be about 10 years younger, should check it out again.

Julie - so glad they found out what the problem was with the meds and that your DH is finally doing better.

Dominique - will pray for Aida.

I guess I shouldn't complain about the cold when so many are snowed in! But 63 in the house is just a bit too much for me! I actually was able to go out in just a turtle neck and an unzipped hoodie yesterday though, so I guess it is not really too cold.

Our party was fun last night. David is an expert at grilling. The portobellos, peppers, and asparagus were amazing. Sarah made a flourless chocolate cake, topped with fresh whipped cream and a couple of these huge incredible blackberries. Claire (almost 3) begged most of mine, so spared me a few calories. She had already eaten 2 whole cupcakes! I bought valentine balloons for the grandkids ($1 store has really neat helium balloons for a $1). When they were leaving 1 went to the ceiling where the stairs are, so we spent about 15 minutes getting that down. Then the brother of that same little girl let his go and we spent another 15 minutes getting it down. Always a little excitement with 8 small children!

Better jump in shower and get ready for church.

I realize the test had nothing to do with the incision, but don't they do blood tests before surgery? wouldn't that bring it up? I don't know I'm no medical expert LOL! Just glad he's better....

Vicki and Dominique - this test had nothing to do with his incision. This was a regular blood work done to make sure his cholesterol meds are not affecting his liver.

When he was at deer camp last fall, something did pop out. He had to gently push it back in so there was a need for that surgery (to check for a hernia). I did find out something that I did not know. He needed that second incision because they had to look in two different areas for the hernia. Lynn told me that and he is not upset about having the second incision. It was just me I guess because I did not know.

Anyway, they will retest him in four to six weeks to see if his liver is back to normal with the medication switch.

Sorry to rub it in for all you snowed in people, but today was BEAUTIFUL! It was sunny and warm. We went exploring. Found that Hill Country is literally minutes from the house. I had never been past a certain stoplight on one of the roads near our house. We kept going and BOOM, you are in Hill Country. It's just beautiful! We discovered a neat little winery with a bistro that DH and I want to come back and visit on a date night sometime. We found a little park by the lake and the boys had fun there for a long time exploring, throwing rocks in the lake, and climbing trees. It was so much better than watching them veg in front of the TV or computer all day!

Vicky-I believe they live in Puerto Rico. It's actually kinda funny - I post on facebook that I was going to walk in the challenge for life and asked for donations. I got this donation from a person I didn't know...so I thanked her and said I was confused because I didn't think I knew her. She said she didn't but her sister gave her my name, their mother is fighting lung cancer...so yeah interesting. But their mother went into the hospital this week I think she may be out..but Aida Vanessa asked for prayers (they are Jehovah Wtns) and I asked if she would like "my ladies LOL" to pray for her mom..she was very grateful that you would add her to the prayer list...
