Don't let the scale define you, it can't tell you how great you look and feel, how you are building muscle now, etc. Eventually it will come back down if you stick with the plan.
I struggle with the scale myself, but I am doing more exercise now than ever and eating under calories. I may be hitting it too hard in fact and putting myself in starvation mode or maybe it is just a plateau, I dunno.
I am not going to worry about it, I am doing great!
Depending on your diet and workout your weight can fluctuate because of the muscle gain. Instead of focusing on the scale I would get a tape measure and track your measurements to find out if you are losing. Good Luck

Based on the description I would say its a combination of water weight, and weighing on two different scales. Your weight can easily fluctuate 5 +/- lbs just because of how much drink, sweat, etc. And two different scales can have a huge fluctuation.

About two or three months ago, I worked myself and weighed in at 288. Two weeks later, I went to the dentist and they weighed me for some reason and I came in at 267. Then on Wednesday I weighed myself again and I was back at 288. I don't think I have changed my diet or anything else. I just go to work with my dad in construction every once in awhile. What I did do was take vitamin E in capsules around the time I had went with my dad for a few days. So is my weight gain fat related, muscle related, or both? My waist size has not changed and I, for the most part, don't look or feel thicker.
