Yeah, that's what I'm going to start doing. I guess taking shots of Jameson doesn't count, right? Haha. I should find a good active weekend hobby.

Ha. Well put, man. Not sure why I care so much. And true about the hour per day. I can probably do it, too, but I like giving my body time to rest up. Actually, I really need to start doing something during the weekends.

Don't worry about other people's fitness minutes, if they want to cheat themselves them it is only them that they are hurting. Who knows, maybe they are counting web-surfing as fitness?...lol Just focus on your own fitness and it will take a lot of stress of yourself. BTW, just one hour a day is not hard to do after a while... I usually do an hour and a half to two hours a day, any more than that and you would not have enough time in the day to live...lol

Again, depending on how accurate you want to be ... the chest strap is way more accurate than the wrist ones (at least that was true 3 years ago when I bought mine). Anything by Polar or Garmin is probably a decent buy. I think the 50-100 price range is reasonable for cost/benefit. I would buy online as opposed to Worst Buy or some fitness store. The prices are jacked way up in my experience.

I ballpark it- enter in every 3 days or so 120 minutes, because I usually run about 40 minutes/day, and add some ST. Not too serious about it......

In that case, if I cared enough to be accurate, I'd wear a heart rate monitor. The truth is, "minutes" are a terrible unit of measure when estimating activity. Intensity is equally important (or more important) as length of time. If you're hustling up and down the court for 60 minutes, you're doing a hell of a lot more than the guy shuffling. What I used to do for activities like this where there is a high degree of variability is wear my heart rate monitor and have it report my burn rate (which is ultimately what you care about) and then enter the minutes to match the burn rate. You can also just bypass the activity and enter your calories burned in manually.

I was wondering how everyone here does it. In my case, I play a lot of basketball and soccer, but figuring out how many minutes I'm actually actively playing is tough. For example, tonight I was at a scrimmage from 6:30 to 8pm, but I only marked down 60 minutes since I have to compensate for the standing around, in between games, stretching, etc. At the gym, even though I'm there for an hour and a half, I'm mot actually lifting for an hour and a half. Ends up being more like 45mins (not counting im betweem exercises, rest, changing, shower, etc) Thoughts?
