With the two guys being drunk - it is good that no one else was around - but sounds like two guys being drunk.

Overdoing things while drunk is a bit of a 'guy thing', and if the two of them are OK with it now, I'd let it go.

Basically this is a (drunk) guy way of saying "friends don't pee on friends' shoes", and is in a completely different class to picking fights with strangers, or with domestic violence. (although if it happens too often, he might find himself with a dwindling stock of friends).

While this is something you should try to encourage him not to repeat, don't punish him for being honest with you.

Sheena, I have to say that the last three posts made sense to me - in terms of keep an eye open and listen to your instincts. I've known some guys that relate that way, but very (if ever) rarely the keepers (and that sort of relating does not translate into a male/female relationship, even on the verbal level). On the other hand, I once worked in the domestic relations field and a lot of our clients' husbands and BFs had started out that way. I don't know your situation and the people, obviously, but from my experiences please keep that eye open and trust your instincts.

I don't know. I'm a guy. Obviously, I wasn't there and don't know the details, but it seems to me that violence is violence. If it was a close friend of mine telling me this story about her bf, I'd be concerned.

I've never known "friends" to punch each other in the face even when drinking. I don't drink, I've never touched the stuff, but I've hung out with friends that were drinking and never once seen them hit each other. They've done some stupid stuff but never got violent.

Throwing a box warrants getting hit in the face a few times? Did it have something in it? Last I checked a card board box doesn't do any damage...lol.

Lets say you're living together and he was drinking and you threw a shirt at him or something, what'll happen then? Will you get punched in the face a few times and "hug it out"?

I'm not saying there is cause for concern, but punching someone in the face a few times isn't a "hug it out matter" imo.

I don't see a problem other than a little immaturity in handling the situation. If he has never demonstrated aggression towards you and is not a "hot reactor" to everyday situations you shouldn't be alarmed. We are wired differently than women as you know, and tend to deal with issues much more dramatically and directly especially when alcohol is involved. Be thankful he trusts in your relationship enough to tell you about it!

Thanks, that makes me feel better :)

I'm not a guy...sorry...but most of my friends are guys...like an 80/20 split(maybe 90/10).

This is way way way 'normal' guy stuff...especially drunk guys...oh I could tell you loads of stories...guys who are friends for 30 years still fighting when they drink too much...STILL!! Yeah, I wouldn't be alarmed...if he hit some chick who tried to pee on him and threw a box at him I may be worried, but guys are just being guys...don't worry about it.

Sounds like a normal night out with the boys to me. It is hard for men not to spill some blood when they are drunk. It probably would have been a lot worse if it were a stranger and not a friend.

So I need some advice from you guys about something that my bf did last night. This is not a diet related question fyi. This is the only place i could think to get honest answers.

So he and two of his closest friends went out to a bar last night to have some drinks, play pool ,etc. I guess his friend got really drunk and while peeing on the side of the road tried to "go" on my bfs shoes, then picked up a box from the side of the road and threw it at him after my bf told him to stop.

So my bf got mad and punched him in the face "a few times". His friend was not really hurt i guess and after the punching they both "hugged it out" according to my bf. They talked today and seem fine with each other, like nothing even happened. His friend said "lets just forget about it".

My question is this: is this behavior i should be alarmed about and concerned about or is it normal guy stuff that is not big deal?

I know my bf has had fights in high school but we have been together for over three years and this is the first fight he has gotten into since i met him. I am a second grade teacher who has never even seen someone get punched. Should i be worried??

Strawberries are combined with tangy and sweet balsamic vinegar and creamy ricotta in this quick and simple dessert. Chef Meg took a member-submitted recipe and made a few changes--and even tried this recipe with her own homemade ricotta. (It's easy!)
