CHRISTYD150,

When I started being more active, I noticed many positive changes that included losing inches, increases in strength and endurance, better night's sleep, more energy, etc... however, when it came to weight loss. That was different. That did take time.

People assume that when they start exercising the weight will start to come off quickly. That is a misconception. When it comes to gaining or losing weight, what matters most is what we eat. good nutrition and portion control take the weight off and keep it off. Exercise is what keeps our bodies fit.

You will probably notice that your clothes will start fitting better before that scale begins to move. And that's perfectly normal. While a safe weekly weight loss would be 1-2 pounds per week, there will be weeks you don't lose. There will even be weeks you gain ! And that doesn't mean you're doing anything wrong.

Your body will lose weight on its time schedule, not yours. So, don't assume something is wrong because the weight isn't coming off as fast as you'd like. Weight loss is a slow steady process that takes time.

I have never seen any weight loss results from working out alone. Better health and nicely toned muscles, yes...but never real weight loss.

When I started started tracking what I ate and creating a daily calorie deficit, I saw weight loss results right away.
