Yes in 2 of the videos I use she does use a stretchy band. I have a red medium tension band I got at Target. They do chest presses and some shoulder activities that while I can do it makes my shoulders hurt and so I am assuming I am doing it incorrectly... I had biceps tendonitis recently and learned some new ways to accomplish the same thing. Thanks for talking with me. I know I'm inconsistent with my posting, but I do come around and read what others have posted now and again.

Strength training doesn't burn all that many calories directly in the way that cardio does. Instead the benefits of ST are indirect, in that it helps you burn more calories throughout the day, not just when you are working out, and also that it helps ensure more of your weight loss comes from fat alone, rather than a combination of fat and muscle.

3 lb weights are cardio, not strength - especially if you can do it for 45 minutes, which is why I have suggested measuring it as an add-on to cardio.

I am assuming you are not using resistance bands while doing WATP, so this method is not relevant.

Spark's fitness tracker includes a number of resistance band exercises - why don't you look there as a starting place.

Oh Hey that's pretty cool! How do you gauge when using resistance bands? I don't know anything more about the bands than that I have Light, Medium, and Heavy ones.

2 x 3 lbs = 6 lbs, which is 2.4% of your body weight. Add 2.4% to the estimated calorie burn.

I exercise using a variety of Leslie Sansone videos. She incorporates some strength training in with the walking / aerobics. So have been having a hard time deciding just how many calories I burn and or how to document it properly in my tracker. Today I just put 3 miles in 45 minutes. This doesn't take into account the use of 3 lb hand weights throughout the session. Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions for documenting my exercise? Thanks!
