You should be concerned enough to see a doctor!

Definitely check with your doctor - chest pain is never anything to take lightly. I had a similar problem, and I foolishly ignored it for a while and it got worse, until I had a very scary episode out on a trail (luckily not alone). I was referred to a cardiologist for a full work-up -- luckily for me it is not a serious problem with my heart, and a low dose of a beta blocker mostly takes care of the pain for the most part.

Currently maintaining within 5 lbs. (+ or -) of goal. I weigh daily, but also use a tape measure and the fit of my clothes to guage how well I'm doing.

Do you feel short of breathe when you get these chest pains ? Are there any other symptoms ? if this is something you haven't experienced before while walking on the treadmill, it would be best to call your doctor.

Chest pains should not be ignored. always err on the side of caution when it comes to chest pains. If doing a certain routine causes these pains, lay off that exercise until you can talk to your doctor.

Since it's something new, I would recommend getting it checked out by your doctor. That way you can know for sure whether it's nothing, or it's a medical issue that needs to be addressed.

Certainly chest pain is not something to ignore. But you should know that it has many possible causes. In fact, as much as a quarter of the U.S. population experiences chest pain that is not related to the heart. Chest pain may also be caused by problems in your lungs, esophagus, muscles, ribs, or nerves.

If you have unexplained chest pain, the only way to confirm its cause is to have a doctor evaluate you. emoticon

I am a young, healthy 33yro adult and I walk uphill on the treadmill for exercise. Lately I've been noticing chest pains that subside when i stop moving but pick up again when I resume my workout. this wasn't happening before. Should I be concerned? i can't tell if it's my heart or my lungs.
