Helpful information to have. I'm going to start strength training this week hopefully and it's good to know this ahead of time. I would have just done the one weight myself, but I like reading everyone's opinions.

I've never thought of it that way. I just use the weight of the dumbbell. Right now, I'm using 8 lb bells so I enter 8 lbs. It doesn't really matter, in regards to calorie burn, what weight you enter in the SP fitness tracker though.

Make time, or make excuses. The choice is yours.

I'd just be consistent about it. Pick one way (either single dumbbell weight or total weight) and stick with it. That way you won't be confused when you go back to look at your progress.

I would think about how much the muscle (or muscle group) you are working is lifting. Is each bicep lifting 5 or 10 lb? I would put in 5 lb. But for something like squats where you are holding 5 lb in each hand, then I'd say 10 lb because your thighs and glutes are lifting all of the weight you are holding.

Does that make sense?

This may sound like a dumb question but please humor me if you can, lol

I am using 5 lb dumbbells.
In the fitness tracker for dumbbell exercises, it asks what weight you are using - do I enter 5 or 10 for both? I can understand entering 5 if you are only using one at a time, but if you are using both would it be 10? (I was just thinking that if using a barbell with 5lbs on each side it would be 10 - so s that the same reasoning with dumbbells?)

Thank you for clearing up this confused brain ;)
