You probably want to talk to your physician about this if it is an ongoing issue. Women who have had babies are much more likely to have umbilical hernias. Not saying that is what your issue is here but it isn't that uncommon for a woman to develop one after having a baby.

Granted, you seem to be describing pain lower than the belly button but sometimes pain is felt different places than the actual injury is.

Not that it is the same thing at all, but I had a hernia repair and it bothered me for a good year or two. Now 5 years later I don't even know it's there. I think that area of the body has a lot of muscles they have to cut through so if you don't use them that much you very well could be breaking up adhesions.

I agree that this is something that needs to be discussed with your doctor. There are so many variables and your doctor would be able to not only examine you, but also have your full health history to be able to tell you what may be going on and what you should be doing so you don't make things worse.

I had an emergency c-section October of 2012 and had a very long recovery. I've been trying to build my core muscles which have always been weak. I avoided doing this for over a year afterward to give that area extra time to heal. Anyways, I've been doing a short ab workout (around 6 minutes) along with cardio and other strength exercises. I work the abs 3-4 times per week. I've been experiencing a lot of pain around my incision area but it feels internal. I think I have a slight adhesion as I feel a pulling sensation depending on where I'm at in my cycle. From what I've read adhesion are crazy common and something like 95% of people who have had c-sections have them so I'm not too concerned about it. Anyways to get to the point. The pain is completely manageable I am just paranoid I'm messing something up. It's probably just my muscles trying to work about after trauma or maybe my adhesion separating a little which would be a good thing. I want to conceive again after I lose some weight, so I'm just extra paranoid. Has anyone had similar experiences or can shed some light? I know the best thing is to ask a doctor but things are still getting worked out with my insurance right now.
