Burning fat is an all-body process, and you can't target where you lose weight from. Energy is delivered to the muscles via the bloodstream, NOT from being absorbed from surrounding fat stores. While there are a number of exercises that work the core muscles, they will do absolutely nothing about the overlying layer of fat.
What you can do is to continue to reduce your overall body fat through a combination of cardio, all-body strength training and watching your intake, and some of it will naturally come off the stomach. It sounds like you are seeing pretty good results already - keep up the great work.
While visibly defined muscles is normally a product of low body fat rather than massively developed muscles, this does not mean you should wait before strength training. In fact, quite the opposite. Without ST, up to 25% of lost weight can come from lost muscle rather than fat. And it is a lot easier to maintain your existing muscle with even a moderate ST program while losing weight, than it is to add it back later. ST is also an extremely effective fat burner.
I started a strict no high fructose corn syrup diet 2 months ago along with a healthier lifestyle. Since December my stomach shrunk from 39" to 33" and my waist from 33 to 26.5. With that said I still have chub on my stomach but not nearly as much. I don't believe in weighing btw. Anyways is it possible to work on toning for the next few months with a medicine ball and see results. I want to see a tighter stomach but I hear you have to lose all fat before you start toning. Also if you have any abdominal exercise or cardio with a weighted medicine ball, please share! Thanks!
